OP, "old rangers and f150's" and their associated rust issues from the past have absolutely nothing to do with the maverick. You dont honestly think in the last 20 years that nothing has changed in construction, materials, etc do you? Your foundation to your thought process here is flawed...
Also the noise funnily enough. Most pretty much all oem turbo platforms recirculate the released pressure (air) back into the intake so you don't hear "pssssshhhhhh" all the time. Most non car enthusiasts/people don't want to hear that. And they are the majority of buyers/owners.
