I was in the market for a Maverick at one point but ended up with a SEL Santa Cruz for just over $29k with no markup. Not sure where you got your numbers.
True. Most issues occur in the first 36,000 but it’s nice to have a long warranty for a the first year of a new model. I’m not anti Ford. I’ve had several through the years with little issues. I was going to order a Maverick but didn’t have the patience to wait 8 to 12 months. Especially with...
Oh so you have
Thats an extended warranty. I decline those every day from spam callers from India. Hyundai 60K warranty is bumper to bumper. 100K on Engine and Transmission.
It appears you are getting your recalls confused. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/ford-recalls-39000-us-suvs-after-engine-fire-reports-2022-05-19/
Looks like older vehicles which problems have since been corrected. As I said, 100k warranty so not fazed. All brands have had their issues. Even Ford.
The more accurate comparison would be to a Hyundai Tucson because that’s essentially what it’s based on with a bed instead of enclosed cargo area. So it does drive like an SUV and I’m good with that. Not downing the Maverick. I think it’s a fine vehicle for the money. The availability and...
Have to look at vehicles as a whole. Gas mileage isn’t everything. 30 mpg is pretty damn good for a truck. If was all about mpg I’d have bought an all electric vehicle.
Let me preface this by saying I was a member of this forum before I made a decision to purchase any vehicle. I wasn’t really in the market for a new vehicle but saw a Ford commercial about selecting a model and options online and thought it would be nice to have a small truck for Home Depot runs...
My wife has a 2016 Equinox that now has 145K miles in it without any issues. Not sure of her mileage but pretty sure it’s similar to mine. Who knows, I may trade in my Santa Cruz in a few years when there’s dozens of them sitting on the car lot.
To get the turbo you have to step up to the premium model starting at $35k so wasn’t worth an extra $5k for me. I have no problem with the non turbo engine. It goes just fine.
I was originally planning to order a Maverick but after reading about all the delays up to a year I decided on a Santa Cruz. I opted for the SEL trim that has features equal to an XLT or better so not much difference In price. Mine was $29,230 with no msrp markup or dealer bs add ons. Something...
