Trim: Hybrid Lariat Lux
Dealer: Elk Grove Ford, in Sacramento County, CA
Haven't had it long enough to form strong opinions, but so far I am absolutely delighted with it. Comfortable, lively, perfect size and gorgeous. I haven't had a new...
Of note: My Lariat Lux hybrid, ordered last June, had been scheduled for build next week. Ford pushed it back one week, then pushed it back another week. Now scheduled for 2/14, but as always, not holding my breath.
I tried to order through the small-town dealer, in the county seat of my ruralish county. Tried three times to get someone to help me -- twice by email, once by phone.
No response. None. No email, no callback, nothing.
So, I went with the mega-dealer in the adjacent urban county. Boom, no...
The *only* reason I would consider switching is for a significantly longer bed in a slightly larger truck, to fit more hay in on a feed store run. Since that's not there, not really even on the crew cab, I'll stick with the hybrid Mav.
Ordered a hybrid Lariat Lux in June, and was sitting at Priority 2. When I ordered, I chose a "practical" color I liked over the one I really wanted.
Since I'm not scheduled, no VIN assigned, etc., I decided to call the dealer and see about getting the color I really want, since everything else...

Embrace change!
Last night I got a look at a hybrid -- not mine -- on the dealer lot. It was already sold, so I don't know about waiting for "gov't approvals" on the hybrid models.
I got a call from my dealer (Elk Grove Ford, in a suburb of Sacramento, CA) that the first two Mavericks had come in and would I like a look? Both already sold, one ordered, one bought off the lot. One Ecoboost, one hybrid.
Of course, I ran right over.
Salesman told me I was lucky I...
Lariat Hybrid, ordered June 14. Nada.
As things are going, I would be truly shocked/delighted to see an email confirmation of the next step. Honestly, I am not anticipating seeing the actual vehicle until next year.
Fortunately, I work from home so no commute, and I have a very reliable 2006...
As a horse-trainer friend once remarked to me: "When a woman drives a truck, it's because she needs a truck, not a statement of manhood."
My barrel-racing niece can back a horse-trailer onto a dime with her F-250, and so can my carriage-driving cowgirl neighbor next-door!
