I do appreciate the sympathy. Carvana bailed me out... and I actually broke even, after the thousands in taxes and dealer fees I'd never recoup, my travel expenses to pickup the car, and the accessories I put on it I'd never get a refund for; Ford wasn't gonna help out in any way, shape, or...
I'm assuming your last comment means you didn't take the time to read said "long post."
I have no grounds to file a lawsuit. I was not harmed. My vehicle was sold. I have nothing to support a lawsuit. What I do have is evidence and corroborating statements made by Ford employees contradicting...
Absolutely. Still applies.
Unlike with safety recalls, manufacturers aren't required to notify vehicle owners of TSBs. And that's the crux of it. A TSB ain't worth dirt to someone who doesn't know their car might be a risk.
I'm hoping this problem really isn't a problem. That would be nice...
Thanks for the heads up. really.
Unfortunately, in some ways that ship has sailed (as it's been pointed out I've since sold the car). The real issue at this point (aside from the fact that Ford's miserable customer service has cost them my patronage for life, likely) is that everyone at Ford...
I hear ya.
I enjoyed fancying the idea someone, anyone at Ford has their finger on the pulse and is trying to do something about this.
And I like where you're going with your thoughts... the questions is, who's the expert? I would have had to induce the problem intentionally while the vehicle...
That's a good idea... and I think both approaches are useful (me gathering intel, documenting conversations, encouraging employees to speak to and even challenge their higher ups and also seeking out my best prospect to push the issue). Here's the problem... I spoke to people WAY down on the...
I can't THANK you enough for your sensible, supportive words. I was beginning to think I'm an asshole for being upset that my car looked and smelled like it wanted to go Chernobyl on me and having Ford agree, and then hear them say, "Ain't our problem, Jack."
Either (some) people here and...
Cute.
My ex might have gotten a chuckle.
I didnāt order mine. I finally had saved enough to justify buying a new car, and after months of research decided the Maverick was for me. I then searched for weeks, religiously calling dealership after dealership. Found a truck that a customer bailed...
I appreciate you share some of my (and some of our) concern about the way a big bad corp handles its business.
Could you not refer to me as āheā? Please.
My name is Daniel. Iām an awesome dude who bought a troubled vehicle from one of those multi-billion dollar corporations who saw fit to...
I entertained that exact perspectiveā and really wanted to take that route. But it wasnāt ever just about me and my now-gone defective Maverick.
Itās a real problemā like, a serious mechanical defect that reasonably appears to be a potential fire hazard.
There are unknowing and unwitting...
What Iām stating is the car cleared the Lemon Law hurtle by a country mile. The dealership and the lawyer and I had a little countdown going.
The question was, would I go down the Lemon Law route with Ford or sell it and let another corporation deal with Fordās bad egg.
I chose the latter.
A...
Did your dealership comment on whether or not itās possible damage was done to the cat or adjacent components?
Iām so glad to hear youāre happy with your customer service experience at your dealership! And Iām glad they were able to articulate the issue and the proper way to handle it.
good...
Heās a lemon law lawyer who specializes in class action suits and manufacturer shenanigans. Iām not terribly moved by your speculations about what his opinions are about me speaking up.
The point of my effort is not to get a payoutā itās to publicize a serious problem.
I see a whole lotta...
I do.
Very much.
Iāve spoken to a dozen Ford employees, across two dealerships, three different corporate channels, and via social media.
Every, and I mean EVERY ONE of them has agreed thereās a serious problem with these Mavericks thatās not being properly addressed.
These employees have...
Youāre probably right about all of that.
But āuntil Ford takes actionā is the crux of this.
When does that happen? When Mavericks are on fire? When enough complaints get to the NHTSA and triggers an investigation?
I guess thatās worked in the past, kind of, not reallyā
Itās a grim equation...
Heās providing pro-bono advice. Itās a lemon law office in Connecticut and heās on stand-by. Solid fella. If Ford comes for me, heāll get paid by Ford. If Iāve blown it already saying what Iāve said, then Ford can come after me and put me in the poor house. Iāll turn around and use social media...
Iām not sure what you mean by that, but I ******* dare Ford to come after me. I dare them to prove I said or did anything that was not directly influenced by the actual behavior of my vehicle and the actual statements made by Ford Employees, in recorded conversations, on the record. I dare them...
Ford issued a statement that says thereās nothing wrong with their car.
I was just a schmuck with a car that Ford says is āOKā.
If thereās fraud here, itās on Ford.
Iāll be informing Carvana of Fordās statement. Itās after the fact.
I did not sell the car āso quicklyā.
It developed a...
Weāre out of lemon law territory and into whistleblower territory.
Please catch up to the severity of the accusations Iām making.
I am straight up accusing Ford of playing with fire. They can drag my ass to court. Iām fine with that. If you donāt agree with my assessment, then maybe you...
