July 2021, heard about the Maverick, put a $100 deposit down, was told 6 months or so, and I was OK with that. Saw that the Maverick was already a hot seller, I put another $100 down on a second Maverick, a Hybrid XLT.
January 2022, Maverick #1 arrives, an AWD XL. Put a lift on, took it off...
Got this warning light last week. The Maverick felt like it was slipping, then catching, then acting normal, at least temporarily.
Took it to the dealership, its been almost a week and after changing a part that similar to a valve body, the dealership has requested a complete transmission...
Who says they aren't seeing Mavs in the wild?
I purt near saw a HERD on the freeway the other day! Both Hybrids, a Velocity Blue Hybrid XL and a Cactus Gray XLT or Lariat Hybrid.
Anyone up for a meet-up at this car show this Saturday? Talking Stick @ the 101 Loop. 3PM to 8PM.

Also, I have 4 original XL steelies with the stock Continentals for sale...
After taking my Maverick in for the second oil change and service at ~11k miles, I was told I have a leaking front axle boot.
I was then told that the axle replacement is not covered under warranty due to my having installed a front end lift/level kit. I had the lift installed professionally...
Had the Maverick in for service yesterday. Got told that the front axle boot is leaking grease. I had actually noticed it on my original wheels so I took a look at the wheels (I still have them) and it looks like the grease was leaking back then at maybe 2k to 3k miles.
Of course they won’t...
I know I’m not the first to have an accident in their Maverick but…..Three months in, 10k miles later and today THIS. Rear-ended in stop and go LA traffic. 🤬
My damage LOOKS minor, but the plastic bumper cover could be hiding damage.
Estimate coming tomorrow.
Just checked the weather and its going to be in the low 90's today, so that means it is going to be REALLY hot soon. While we still have somewhat decent temps out here, is anyone up for a Joshua Tree National Park Meet-up and/or run?
There are a few routes to choose from. I like entering from...
In one of his recent videos, Tim Bartz the fordvideoguy, alluded to EV states getting Hybrid Mavericks before other states w/o EV mandates in place.
Given that I am in CA, an EV state, but that I placed my order almost on the last possible day, I wonder if my order will be bumped up. I do know...
Has anyone done an oil change yet? I read in another post that if you have an FX4 that you need to take off the skid plate to do an oil change; there is no access panel, opening, etc.
I crawled under the Mav today to see what the openings are on my XL "felt skid plate". If you have not seen it...
Saw this article online a couple days ago:
https://jalopnik.com/kia-dealers-are-going-to-kill-the-ev6-1848577923
I realize that this article is about buyers experiences with the Kia EV6 but the dealer that they mention in the article is Citrus Ford and Kia in Ontario CA.
This is the dealer...
Its been about a month since I picked up my Maverick and here is my experience. In the month I have:
Driven over 4,000 miles including trips to NM and TX, Phoenix, and Las Vegas
Lifted the truck and installed new wheels and tires
Tinted the front windows and windshield
Ordered some Ford...
Set of 4 Stock XL Steelies and tires for sale, no TPMS sensors. Wheels are perfect for a set of winter tires- I can take the tires off and sell them separately if needed.
Tires only available too.
Make an offer!
EDIT: I am in Southern California (Palm Springs area) but I travel quite a bit in...
#10-Loose trim at the drivers window- it seems like its ready to fall off.
#9- Turning radius- When this truck was announced, it was stated that it has a great turning radius. On a typical street I still need to do a 3-point turn.
#8-Loose body trim- When I have gone off-road, the jarring of the...
The plate was still available so I jumped on it. Of course, due to supply issues, its probably going to take longer to get the plates than to get a maverick!
(Sorry about the poor resolution; its a photo of my order confirmation.)
The Maverick looks like a truck that many governmental agencies as well as commercial fleet owners will be interested. I understand that fleet ordering is still open to those qualified. Does anyone know if governmental or other fleet purchases will interfere or take priority over public or...
Just saw the name "FX POOR" on another post and LMAO. Isn't it the truth???
Since I got my truck, I just keep adding more things to it, i.e. the lift, tires, tint, seat covers, etc. Now I am shopping skid plates, dash cams, radar detectors and converting the tailgate to keyless. At this...
Just got my 2 inch Rough Country front lift/level with 245/65R17 Falken Wildpeak Tires on Bronco Sport wheels. Drove So Cal to Vegas, hit a lot of wind and my mileage was about 22 MPG.
Immediately after I drove from Vegas to Phoenix/Scottsdale, a 288 mile trip. Trip meter read 25.3 MPG; I...
Got my truck last Tuesday, maiden road trip was this past weekend CA to NM/TX and back. For the most part MPG was consistently 25-26 but we hit a lot of wind in both directions. On the westbound drive between Tucson and Phoenix I hit 31 mph. ECO mode of course and I had just filled up with...
