New York looks to be older than two year vehicles… except the loophole is that out of state vehicles being registered in New York must be inspected regardless of year.
I talked with a customer service center supervisor yesterday and was informed that they are indeed grouping the heat exchanger in the auxiliary cooling system. My argument that just because I can call an engine a windshield doesn’t make it a windshield may be getting me somewhere. Worst case...
I had some symptoms with a “battery level low, all remote systems disabled” notification multiple times. Research shows that this is a related issue prior to failure. Not sure on the specifics but a faulty heat exchanger has been diagnosed starting with this symptom in the past.
I have contacted them and have been sent on an infinite loop between them and the dealer only to be told that “there are no assistance programs available right now”. I made it known that I was wanting to speak to someone regarding warranty issues and to speak with the dealer’s warranty...
I had the truck in for symptoms of this at 23k miles. They stated “no cause found” and now there’s a cause. That’s a major part of my concern that I’m addressing in letters to ford.
I was able to find (through tons of research prior to preparing letters) that Toyota offers repair/replace of the heat exchanger under federal emissions warranty.
You’d think so and that was my argument. Ford argued otherwise so far. We shall see what is done to resolve this. It’s either covered under warranty or ford is going to have another maverick on their lot. My grandpa retired from ford and my family has always owned fords. This has definitely...
Oil changes and maintenance has all been done at this dealer. I’m a diy guy and a marine mechanic so it hurt to pay for oil changes but I figured it was best while under warranty and extra insurance.
I have tried to contact corporate and have been told by three different customer service reps that the only way to contact the warranty department is through the dealership. They don’t have a direct way to contact. Tomorrow I’ll be dropping a letter to my dealership and hopefully be able to...
Out of warranty? Bumper to bumper, yes. I’m not out of powertrain or hybrid warranty for a while. There has been other cases where this was covered under the powertrain warranty. I’ll update if anything changes.
What is very frustrating is that the CE codes are powertrain codes and this is a hybrid component. How they’re saying it’s not covered under either is crazy to me. I’ve done plenty of research on this and found others that were covered under the powertrain warranty without questions.
I wouldn’t call it whiny, just beware that this is my experience as one of the higher mile mavericks at this time. I did make a separate forum post just because this one may get buried. I have been pleased with the effort from my dealer but it seems they’re having the same issues with ford as...
While I’d agree that an extended warranty may help, this is a hybrid specific component and it shouldn’t have to come to that. I’ll probably end up repairing it myself and selling it as fast as possible. My service manager told me that ford’s warranty department has been absolutely terrible the...
Posting this as a caution to anyone considering a hybrid. This is concerning the heat exchanger which seems to be a common issue. I took delivery of my truck 3-28-2022. Around September with 20,000 miles I had an appointment scheduled for an engine shield recall. Days before my appointment, I...
I’ll speak up on this to a different tune than most here. I took delivery of my truck 3-28-2022. Around September with 20,000 miles I had an appointment scheduled for an engine shield recall. Days before my appointment, I began to get notifications in the app that battery power was low and...
