Will the 2.0 AWD Be Flat-Towable?

Recreational flat-towing is possible with the hybrid model only. Front-wheel-drive EcoBoost models must have the front wheels on a two-wheel dolly, while all-wheel-drive models must be on a trailer with all four wheels off the ground. Emergency flat-towing is possible, but there are special...

What do you like LEAST about the Maverick?

I'm hoping some enterprising dealerships will install 3D printers in their showrooms to allow customers to buy print-time, or just sell their own custom accessories.

What do you like LEAST about the Maverick?

Why not design a little trash bin, into which you can throw these coins, Legos, and crumbs? :)

Maverick Technical Specifications Sheet - What are your reactions?

The Hybrid's eCVT is far, far better than the belt/chain-drive CVTs in Subarus and Nissans. At least give it a spin at a dealership. I think it drives fantastically.

Is there rear AC on any trim level?

If you mean Auxiliary AC for second row, then no. But there are HVAC ducts that go under first row seats to supply hot/cold air to second row footwell.

Maverick Technical Specifications Sheet - What are your reactions?

Correct, 2.5L is naturally aspirated. It does not require premium fuel. Premium has better resistance to knock, so it is recommended for high horsepower, turbocharged, and high compression engines.

How will FWD Maverick do in snow?

FWD will handle better than RWD, but neither will get up and go as well as AWD on slippery roads. However, being able to stop is the most important part of winter driving, and stopping all comes down to good tires. So if you can swing a FWD and a dedicated set of winter tires, that may be the...

Maverick Technical Specifications Sheet - What are your reactions?

The dual-clutch RDU can send torque completely to either wheel. So if one wheel doesn't have any traction, torque shifts to the other. The single-clutch RDU is essentially acting as an open diff, and the only torque vectoring you will have is from brake modulation. Up to 50% of total engine...

Maverick Technical Specifications Sheet - What are your reactions?

It is the single-clutch RDU, similar to the non-Badlands Bronco Sport or Escape.

    Torn on whether to purchase

What about having a set of dedicated snow tires that you swap on in winter? I've generally had good experiences with that setup.

All the media pictures feature a spray-in bedliner. Baseline is just a bare painted metal bed.

    Maverick FLEXBED Features & Specs

Drop-in is cheaper and usually removeable. More of a friendly surface, so it won't scuff what you're hauling. But it's also easier for stuff to slide around, so have to take care to tie down. Also more likely to show scuffs after years of use. Spray-in is permanent, more premium-looking, and...
