  1. Hybrid XL received. First Impressions.

Wonderful report, but one thing alarms me, and I hope that I am misunderstanding you. I bought this truck to handle my fishing kayak, so the two front tie-downs are very important. So important that, without them, I might as well have a motorcycle. The model I saw had two die-downs in front...
  2. Broken front grill at 1000 miles

Everyone has good suggestions, but I look at it from a different angle. A BRA. Some folks hate them, but my last two car bras had the small section that would just cover the front of the hood, as there are no vent holes on this area. Those bras paid for themselves over and over again...
  3. Line-X before and after

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!! This is the FIRST GOOD NEWS I have received. These pages are starting to scare me, Truck won't start, the tailgate not hanging right, for example. My dealer uses a Line-X shop also.
  4. Maverick Fuel Tank Official Recall : 5,456 Units w/ Spray-In Bedliner Affected

My God! What is Ford running down there? It sounds like Larry, Moe and Curly! Now I am thankful that I neglected to order the spray-in liner at the factory and am getting it done by my dealer. That said, I am surprised that a spray-in requires DRILLING.
  5. White Maverick looking good with cab spoiler, mudflaps, tailgate spoiler, hood protector, stripes, tires

I agree with MightyMaverick: except for the mud guards, the rest seems a "bit too much." Then again, "chacon a son gout." One thing I really want, if the price is reasonable. I think the black letters on the back of my silver truck would look great. ONE QUESTION: HOW ARE THEY ATTACHED...
  6. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

LCuster is hitting close to home. I also ordered my Maverick on June 11, and have heard no production info. BUT, I received a nice email from Ford last week, which included the FIT kit that they will give me because I am a new owner. AT LEAST I KNOW THAT FORD KNOWS THAT I AM ALIVE.
  7. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

Being an honest - read NAIVE - person, I am assuming that my dealer wouldn't/couldn't DARE raise the price after I have signed a purchase contract. If he does, "Hyundai here I come." My last two cars have been Hyundais, both excellent quality, so buying a Santa Cruz would cause me no grief...
  8. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

My dealer hasn't said anything about the tonneau cover. That said, a blurb on this forum a few months ago said that ALL tonneaus were show stoppers. I guess that I will sink or swim with my dealer. This whole situation has really given a bad impression of Ford. I don't know if it is because...
  9. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

Al, we're in the same boat, with the same crickets. I ordered my XL June 11, identical to yours, but with a tonneau and mud guards. I heard from my dealer about a month ago that the mud guards were a deal breaker, so we cancelled the mud guards. For a month, we had cicadas, but we are back to...
  10. 📒 Maverick Build Process Guide! - Window Sticker, Blend Date, Production Rotation Number, Built & Shipped Emails, Delivery Date Estimates & More

Big T, your "week or so" sounds like Fantasyland, but I don't want to put a wet blanket on anyone's dreams. I ordered my Maverick on June 11, and have heard nothing. One day I hear good news on this forum, then the next day, bad news. I am in a tither because I am selling my current car to...
  11. My Maverick Tailgate Letters, Tailgate Assist, All-Weather Mats have arrived

Man, I LIKE the letters across the back. Black letters would look great on my silver truck. I am reminded of the first Toyota trucks in America. The kids would peel off the T, O, T, A, and just leave YO is the middle of the tailgate.
  12. I drove a Maverick, and I liked it!!

Great review. Thanks for thinking about us other waiters. That said, the auto magazines would have rated you a D+, because you didn't spend a whole page talking about cup holders. Man, if Ford is going to stick an extra $3000 on the sticker price, the word will get out quickly, and the...
  13. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

One lesson learned on options: you can be TOO careful. My first car out of college was a 1970 Barracuda convertible, somewhere around $4400. As it was a little more than I had planned on paying, as I was in my first job, I kept the options to a minimum. I drew the line at - of all things -...
  14. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

Yes, TB84 says it all. Certain options are worth their price to certain buyers. That's what makes the world go 'round. I remember awhile back when the price range on a Mustang was $15,000 to $35,000. Both were sold, and I suspect that both owners were happy. My Maverick XL is what I can...
  15. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

I got to see the Maverick up close and in person today, at my dealer. Of course, they showed the loaded model, but I got a good look at what was my biggest concern: the quality and engineering of the soft tonneau. IT IS A NICELY DESIGNED, WELL-BUILT SYSTEM. Like I said before, I only had the...
  16. Maverick scheduling week of 9/20 for production build week 11/15

Ford's "Until Further Notice" ranks right up there with the horror phrase of all time: "Some Assembly Required." I just got a call from my Dealer: a demo Maverick will be at my dealership on Monday, September 27, from 1:00-3:00. I'll be there, with bells on, then I'll go to Arby's for a Reuben.
  17. Hybrid Order Support Group

I am feeling your pain, but for a different reason. I will sell my current Hyundai Venue to Carvana. They offered me a wonderful price on it a few months back, but I had to pass on it. So, each day I drive it (I don't drive it very much), I am putting miles on it and Carvana's offer is...
  18. Hybrid Maverick retail orders to resume scheduling this week! (9/13) - per dealer bulletin

Today, Sep 13, I received from this forum news that (a) until further notice, the Hybrid is off the table, and (b) it is back on the table this week. I am assuming that Moe, Larry, and Curly have gotten Shemp back from his illness in Hermosillo.
  19. The XL Trim Maverick Thread

Well, I just heard from my Dealer. Hermosillo has a hold-up over my ............................ get ready ...................... MUD GUARDS. EIGHT SCREWS ??????!!!!!!!!! Of course, I told my dealer to go ahead and drop the guards from the order, and let him install them when the truck...
