I found a somewhat acceptable solution to the gap between the screen and dash for the 12" screen. The top section could be prettier but it will do the job.

So you did the update and your voice prompts mute the radio? I'm seeing that this could be a sync firmware issue.
Can you point me to any documentation on those pins? It would help to know what they control to check if any other functionality is broken. Everything else is working fine and...
Why on earth would you care what the dealer thinks?
You can always swap back the OE if you're really worried about it or if you absolutely must have recall taken care of it that requires the old stuff to be in place, like the backup camera.
Add another one to the done & dusted category. '24 XLT Hybrid.
Only outstanding issue is that android auto is not muting the audio when giving directions. Is this how it works with Sync4 or am I missing something in the programming maybe?
Here's some of the stuff I used that differs from...
Received the filter today and plugged it in. It greatly reduced the noise but didn't completely kill it.
Bummer.
It's close enough to background noise that I'm just going to live with it. The fact that it's only present when braking or blinking makes it a bit more tolerable as well.
The...
It looks to be less than that but it's definitely in the kilohertz range. Sorry about my crappy traces. I was only looking to validate that it was PWM and that the signal was present on the DC input.
On a hunch, I plugged in a different radio -- Wouxun XS20G and it does not suffer the same interference. Same power source, same antenna. I think I can conclude that whoever makes this radio for Midland cheaped out on the input filtering or just didn't bother to put in any at all.
I'm...
Here's some traces of the brake lights. You can clearly see the PWM riding on the DC line -- which is pretty dirty to begin with. Truck is ON but engine is not running.
It appears that the turn signal noise has 2 components. The first is the on/off voltage spike, the second this same PWM...
Bullet Point Diesel. Prepare for sticker shock. But hey, free shipping!
I have a moonroof so drilling some holes in the roof was going to be a hassle. This was the next best alternative. Yeah it kind of screws up the ground planes but it's good enough for a couple of miles which is...
It's certainly possible. I tried two different locations with the same result. Currently it's bonded to one of the bolts just below the fuse box. I also tried a bolt on the center console assembly that's bare metal. Continuity checked out at both locations. I'm still considering getting...
Already one with a cheap set from Amazon. I put them on both ends of the power wire, the mic wire AND at all the lights. They may have helped a little but did not resolve the issue.
Dude, I am not looking to steal a car.
I work with electronics and digital circuits every day. I am very familiar with the CAN protocol. This has nothing to do with it. Your insistence that it does tells me all I need to know about your lack of insight on this matter.
I have narrowed it...
After a little digging, I found that the rear lights are indeed being driven by a PWM signal from the BCM and not old school solid 12V.
This thread goes into detail for Broncos.
Edit: The mechanism appears to be programmable via forscan.
This has nothing to do with the brake lights and turn signals, at least on the Maverick. There's no communication between the controller and the bulb. It's strictly a load sense interface. You can't drop a bulb on a CANBUS differential pair and 'talk' to it.
Point me to source if this isn't...
I've narrowed down the source of the intermittent interference I'm hearing on my radio. I get a buzzing on all channels whenever the brake or turn signals are active. The noise went away when I disconnected the rear lights (and only the rear lights) but I have no idea what could be causing it...
This is what's working for me. '24 XLT Hybrid.
No message if driver is clicked in. Pops up if not.
Goes away immediately when clicked if message is showing.
Indicator should still work for all seats.
I changed this so that it won't ding at me at startup.
