  1. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

I want to thank everyone for their input. I am very surprised by all the responses I have had on this post. I really would not mind paying to fix this problem. It is quite absurd that it cannot be fixed without replacing the whole glass, resulting in a cost of over $1,500. Considering I have not...
  2. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Thank you. I've used the armor all before but it seems when I stopped using it my car plastic dried out even faster. Not familiar with the silk shine. Did a bit of research and conclude in that this GummiPfleger German made product is supposed to work the best
  3. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Very much agreed. I've come to regret the decision for a sunroof. I almost never use it and had to wait a lot longer for delivery due to this request. It is much more inset towards the back compared to sunroofs I've had in the past and it is difficult to even enjoy since it is pretty much...
  4. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Well, apparently the weather strip is not available as a single item and only comes attached to the sunroof glass. I can understand why they would be tempted to deny this claim. When looked at closely the thickness of the rubber in this area is almost paper then so it makes sense so that it is a...
  5. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Never used a drive-thru car wash. Only hand wased at the self-serve bays next to my home. Unfortunately there is nothing that exists as a Ford regional manager that I could get information about. Calling the 800 Ford customer satisfaction number was quite asinine. Tried twice and they made me...
  6. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

A bold statement from dealer influencing the warranty decision. Only ever been washed in the self-serve bays and roof never got full spray pressure. Never used any product on it, protectorant or otherwise (other than that premixed at the wash bay). Sunroof was hardly ever used and vehicle kept...
  7. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Always taken to the neighborhood hand car wash bays. Usually just a quick soap, wax then rinse. Got rid of all the mice when we rented a large roll-off and threw everything out of the garage, most of which was destroyed by critter urine and teeth. Maverick was never in the garage until the...
  8. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

I thank you for your input. Waited extra long for delivery of my 2023 Maverick hybrid and I rarely use the sunroof. Hard to justify the $1,500, even if just out of principle. Will apply some Sonax GummiPfleger to minimize further degradation for now.
  9. Sunroof weather stripping falling apart.

Went to wash my car the other day and realized that the rear part of my sunroof weather stripping is falling apart. Inspected it and realized it is very dry and crumbly. Still under bumper to bumper warranty and even purchased the premiere warranty. Being told by dealer that this is not covered...
  10. Explorer 12” digital instrument cluster installed in my 2024 Maverick

Wow, that looks so nice. Definitely something Ford should offer as an option when building. My biggest gripe about the Maverick cluster is not being able to display any other stats digitally when using the speedometer. I like the analog power gauge but the analog speedometer is quite useless.
