My truck has been on a "Hold" since mid October, but is scheduled to have the recall work completed on January 3, 2023. Parts are confirmed shipped, but not delivered to dealer as of 12/29. Fingers crossed!
Got all my money back promptly. All of it. But I kept the signed paperwork and worked out a deal that they store my Lariat in their showroom, out of our wintry weather. Dealer is not any problem, but federal NHTSA is over reaching here. I just need to vent some-
Dealer was fully cooperative. Title transfer was blocked due to a Hold Order from NHTSA. $20K fine to Dealer if car leaves the lot. Ford may be culpable to some degree, though. So, my Maverick still sits center stage in the Dealer's showroom safe from our wintry weather with doors locked and...

My Lariat built 7/6/22 was shipped to dealer and scheduled for delivery to me Oct. 18. After I signed all the papers and was about to drive away, I was stopped by the Sales Manager and informed that because of a "Stop Order" from NHTSA...
I told my dealer to put my Lariat in the showroom "for marketing" reasons, as they have a shortage of new vehicles to show. And they did! My Mav is now out of the weather until.... They keep the doors locked and a prominent SOLD sign under t he wiper blade. They will keep it dusted and...
I am in an almost exactly same position as "LastDog" with my Lariat Lux. Built July 5th, on chip hold yada yada until late September, shipped to Dealer and then delivery was blocked by FOMOCO due to airbag nonsense. We are told the 1st quarter 2023 for parts even as they build and delver Mavs...
Plenty of documentation earlier in this thread. There are a good number of us that this has happened to. The dealer wass facing a $21K fine if he completed my registration...
Add me to the list. I paid and picked up my Lariat Lux on 10/18 only to have the dealer "repossess" the vehicle the next morning when registration flagged it as under the stop ship order (as it had been assembled on 7/5/22). I got one ten mile drive home @ 41 mpg. <sigh>
Ford sent out a letter Sept. 22 recalling Mavericks regarding a front airbag in addition to the previous side airbag. My Lariat Lux arrived at the dealership on Oct. 17 and was ready for pick up later the next day. I picked it up at 5:00 o'clock and got to drive it home. The next morning the...
Don't know what model Kuat you had, or how long ago it was. My unit was bought three years ago and has no part of it touching the bike frame. Plastic covered parts hold the tires. I stick with the Kuat recommendation.
I am a big fan of Kuat racks. Quick on/offs at the receiver. Not too heavy. Excellent security and easier to load and unload that an in-bed solution. It is hard to beat a well made carrier specifically designed for valuable bikes.
