Not my experience at all. First half tank was 27 mpg second full tank hit 32 mpg. 1/3 city 2/3 highway. In town, the gas engine kicks in at 5% power. sometimes and my battery is shows 100% recharge. Easy grandpa driving style. So far I am thinking it needs breaking in and I am still learning...
