This is a Gator MT rolling tonneau with key-lockable latch and alloy construction. It was great for me because it turned my bed into a secure, lockable trunk, and opens wide when needed. Built into either side of the Gator MT are sturdy T-Slot rails, accepting T-Slot-mounted accessories like...
I did try to apply pressure in 4 different directions on the vents, it didn't seem to make a difference.
So could it indeed be the windshield alignment pins even if the tick seems to be coming from down low?
Could anyone who has identified and mitigated their rattle please listen to this and give me your opinion on which of the many possible sources this might be?
Original video was about 3 minutes long, but I cut out 80 seconds or so for time stopped. This was a particularly cold morning at 19°F...
I looked at these and I have some notes on things to try, with little confidence anything will work
Push on passenger vent and/or panel below
I have pushed in a lot of spots on the front console / dash, but can't recall if I've done this, I'll have to try
Pressing on the dash, speaker grill...
I tried applying pressure in different directions for each vent, but that didn't seem to make a difference. I also did my best to slide in pieces of thick folded paper into various panel seams, including in the windshield vents, but likewise that did not make a difference either.
Glad it...
Sorry for the necro, but does anyone have any updates to this? I have a '23 Hybrid xlt, my "rattle" sounds like a creak like a wooden ship on the high seas, coming from somewhere vaguely inside the dash; it's hard to triangulate. I hear it below about 60 degrees F, though humidity tends to mask...
Maybe, but at what price can I get my current lineup of features? XLT with Luxury package. And my understanding is you lose the physical climate control buttons in the '25, though of course you get a fancy nice bigger screen.
Thanks for all the responses, and sorry for my delay in responding. I do love the car, but am frustrated with the lack of quality control, between the impossible-to-find creak/rattle emanating from somewhere deep from within the front dash / console, to these significant warranty repairs (again...
Do you mean this in the sense of "yes that's too much it's probably a lemon, get rid of it before it pokes a hole in your wallet" or "man this guy complains a lot"?
I have a about 25K miles on this 2023 XLT Hybrid currently. It gets babied, though occasionally fill the bed with bags of mulch, or a lawn aerator rental. Other than that, groceries, kids, or just air.
Other than the slew of recall work, I've had a few issues requiring repairs.
1. Summer last...
one problem I have is, depending on how I have the tracks oriented, at least 1 screw will barely catch, and one will not catch at all. I haven't tried with the tailgate closed, I will try that next time (though I've packed the box up for now).
Thanks Tetochibichu. Do you have a ‘22 or ‘23? And have you measured the space between rails by the canister and at the tailgate? How smoothly and easily does your cover open and close?
I think you’re right, the loose mounting brackets are too long, depending on arrangement they barely catch...
@sgtcurry, could you please take a picture of the mounting clamps and share? I'd love to compare notes. I've tried reattaching the mounting clamps about 8 times now and the tracks are too narrow at the tailgate no matter what I do. I believe I have followed the instructions to a T.
The clamps...
I feel like I've seen a video likely from Realtruck where the guy was showing a different way to install / a modification for a rolling tonneau (can't remember which one).
Does this jog anyone's memory? Can you help me remember which one it is?
Hi all, I've been lurking in the MTC forums for a while now but finally am joining as I got my Cactus Grey XLT hybrid recently!
I've been leaning toward a retractable tonneau, and I like the idea of an integrated t-slot for adding a rack. Somehow I'm leaning away from the ones with rollers...
