I just completed a 1600 mile road trip with my hybrid. Austin, TX to Cullman, AL. Going I was hauling approximately 600 lbs in the bed, returned empty. 26'ish mph going 27'ish returning between 70 and 80 mph. Only reason I would recommend the hybrid is if you are going to tow it behind an RV...
I agree the instructions are poor. I've ask at the dealership they don't know and care even less. If all you are really doing is charging the battery then if you have a charge line from the RV to the truck starting the truck shouldn't be necessary. Plus what is the 15 minute wait all about?
I'm not going to doubt you, but where did you get your information? Are you a Ford employee? The instructions state run for 30 minutes or drive it. If over heating the transmission is a reason then Ford should include it in the manuals instructions for sure. I would say that's a pretty major...
I think Ford's tow instructions are poor. The stop every six hours or less to charge your battery. If charging the battery is the only reason, it shouldn't be necessary if you have a battery charge line between the truck and the RV. I do, and the battery stays charged, which should be addressed...
This looks fine. Have you installed one yet? I'm concerned whether it will fit square along the truck bed or if the wheel well interferes with the fit.
Thanks for the information
I would hope the lights and plug will still be accessible. I would think you will just have to open, swing out the box, to use the light or plug. I would have preferred the passenger side just be further from traffic if parked on the street
This item is available at both Home Depot or Lowe's plus elsewhere. Has anyone installed one? I'm curious about it fitting square to the side of the bed. I have a Softopper installed so it'll have to be mounted below the top of the side of the trucks side rail to clear the Softoppers mount. I'm...
I just had my 2025 XLT done at a etrailer recommend shop in the Georgetown, Texas. We're new to the area so I picked the 3 closest called them. I based my choice off of the service person, whether they had a waiting area or not. One didn't have a waiting area and didn't let customers wait...
The only reason I bought the hybrid was that it's flat towable behind our RV. I reget making the purchase. Crazy time consuming towing instructions with no explanation as to why. Poor manual. Wish they still had the Couier with a manual.
Thanks for your response.
So I assume opening the door may cancel the resetting of whatever needs to be reset after being towed.
The recreational towing instructions also say, Start your vehicle at the beginning of each day, and every six hours or fewer. If your vehicle has a passive key, with...
I don't get the 15-minute wait after recreational towing before you can start the engine or even open the door. After 6 hours of recreational towing, there's no wait before starting the engine and running it for 30 minutes to recharge the battery. Is that strictly to recharge the battery? I'm...
So, where is everyone connecting the charge line in the Maverick Hybrid? I've seen a few You Tubes where the installer is using the positive jump terminal, under the red cover. My problem, there's no bolt there, and from the videos I've seen, that post takes an 8MM x 1.50. If this is the case...
