I wasn't trying to pass judgement either way, do what's right for you. There much value in not worrying about that payment and satisfaction of saving and paying it off at once.
I can appreciate the simplicity of that decision but....
If you want to complicate it a bit, consider inflation. The value of $25k now is more than it will be in 3 years because of inflation. By giving away all that cash now are you actually losing it's value? If it was too I sit in the bank...
So excited to have my build scheduled in mid-April, but unfortunately won't be getting the 0% APR originally promised when I ordered. So I wanted to check in to see what loans people are getting from Ford and elsewhere. My local CU is advertising 6.99% o_O
Ordered 9 days before you. Hybrid XLT Lux w/moonroof. Got scheduled for mid April next week. I was thinking I'd get scheduled by end of Feb (just a hunch) and got lucky. Hang in there!
No, not saying that. Sorry for the confusion. I went in but they were slammed. I eventually did get a order summary reflective of the changes made (removed some constraint items).
And, wonderful news, I called Ford today (as e-mail ain't working) and I am schedule for production April 10...
I got it scheduled today!! This is the only group that understands how great this feels. Sorry for those not yet scheduled, I hate to rub it in. Just excited to finally have something after more than 15 months waiting.
My dealer renewed all their orders at once (I believe), and then changed the info entered into the system to reflect individual customers orders. This sounded shady to me but I've verified with FoMoCo and their info tracks my order all the way back to October of 21. But that might be the reason...
Yeah, I used to get the occasional e-mail from FoMoCo updating me that there are no updates (original order in October 2021). After I re-placed my order with the rollover, I got nothing.
You should at least be getting the order confirmation from Ford and the 45-day updates that everyone else...
My e-mail is not correctly entered into Ford's system and I stopped receiving e-mails after I re-entered my order back in September. Ford says they have my order but only the dealer can update my e-mail. My dealer says:
