It looks and sounds like all the rear diffs on the mavericks are having this issue. And it applies to the AWD tremor, AWD hybrids. The clutches on the rear diff are defective. I had my rear diff replaced already once at 15,000 miles and it went away for about 5,000 miles now the noise is back again.
Hello well here’s what’s going on, theirs no gears on the rear unit they are clutches. The noise went away when they replaced it and once the new part broke in it made the noise once again.
It’s pretty bad, the whole thing it’s the clutches in the rear diff and the traction control system. I had my rear end swapped at 16,000 miles and the noise came back at 21,000 miles I have a 25 AWD hybrid. TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL AND IT GOES AWAY.
