Time for another update!
I picked up a set of Jaguar F Pace wheels with 255/55/19 tires for $400. The tires are date coded 2017, so they're not ideal. I do plan to run them for a couple months while I decide which tires I want for the long term. I'm leaning towards the Continental DWS-06...
I'm overdue for an update, but don't have a ton to report. Since the last time I've added the following:
Truxedo Roll Up Tonneau Cover - Ford Part #VNZ6Z-99501A42B
3D Printed Tailgate Hole Covers
7Blacksmith Adjustable Hitch Mounted Bed Extender
DIY Bed Rails (per the Ford "Hack Your...
Not a huge update, but an update nonetheless...

Big news! I finally received the truck!
Within an hour of getting home I ordered some basics from Amazon to get her ready for life as a daily driver. There are MANY more mods come, but here's what I ordered so far:
Smartliner Floor Liners
Mabett Underseat Storage Bin Liners
Mabett Dash...
One last installment of "pregame B.S." then we're going to get the build.
I wanted to take a moment to share a few quick notes on cars that I've built before the Maverick. The intention is to offer a little perspective on why I doing what I'm doing when it comes to the Maverick Build. So...
Time for another update...
I've already provided some background on GM influences with notes about the Syclone provided above. Ford also has a few street trucks that came before the Maverick; particularly the 1993 and 2000 Ford F150 Lightning. Pics of both are attached below.
Ford also has a...
The 1991 GMC Cyclone, A History Lesson...
Kid: "Dad, where do Syclones come from?"
Dad: "Well son, when a Chevy Astro Van and a Chevy S10 love each other very much..."
I'm not here to plagerize what Car and Driver already wrote about the GMC Syclone. I'm going to link that article here. For...
What's in a name? Well in this case it's just a corny pun that references a legendary sport truck.
I'm calling this build the P.S.I.Clone. It's a reference to the 1991 GMC Syclone of which only 3,000 were made.
The "P.S.I." portion should be pronounced "sy or psi". This copies the first...
Alright, time for another update...
Before I go any further I want to clear up a few things:
1. I'm far from the first person to take on building a Maverick ST. There are several here that have done an awesome job. What I'm doing in this thread is not unique or groundbreaking, but it will...
I was planning to cover this in my next update, but yes. Pronounce it like "Syclone", but I substituted "P.S.I." for "Sy". It's a play on words since we measure boost in P.S.I. I used "Clone" for the second part since (IMO) it will be a clone or copy of the original. The original Syclone and...
Vtec87pr1 - I hope so! Your build is AWESOME and has definitely given me some ideas for mine. I already ordered the Mk8 Fiesta ST steering wheel from Fast Mavericks and will be doing your paddle shifter installation as soon as I get the truck (latest update is 1/29 - 2/5).
Bmavel - Do you have any feedback on the Livernois tune? I'm strongly considering going that route. It looks like there are plenty of positives (power gains, trans shifting improvements, etc.), just wondering if you've had any issues.
If the name of this thread grabbed your attention you're probably a car enthusiast. More than likely, you're also more than 40. :) For those that don't follow, the name of my build is an homage to the most badass sport truck ever built; the GMC Syclone. Back in 1991 it was faster than a...
Reserving this space for my build thread. Much more to come when I pick up the truck in a few weeks. :)
UPDATE: I picked up the truck on 1/27/24. Now the fun begins!
UPDATE: 2/4/24 - Installed some interior upgrades.
UPDATE: 3/3/24 - Installed Truxedo roll up tonneau cover and DIY bed...
