  1. Electric A/C

Huh? C/d is 0.66, or 0.64 on the Lobo. The Hybrid is the same as the EcoBoost. What did you assume it was?
  2. How Much Does a Light Rear End Damage Cost to Repair?

If you were hit hard enough that it compressed the frame member, then that was not a small hit. It's totalled. A full-full-frame truck would most likely also be totaled for the same reason. If not, I sure wouldn't want to drive it crabbing down the road and wearing tires weirdly for the rest...
  3. Tailgate protector...best bang for buck?

Make one along with a bet mat by cutting an outdoor carpet for $20 plus an hour of labour's with a pair of scissors and a screwdriver and a couple of body washers to mount the tailgate part. Cheap, tough, easily cleaned and easily replaced, and looks as good as BedRug.
  4. Extended Warranty: Is it "worth" it? UPDATE

Unless the extended warranty covers the 12v battery, then do not get it. Since the battery is strangely considered to be a wear item like tires and oil, I know of no warranty that would cover it. The only other thing that people claim is halfshafts, and the Hybrid is a lot easier on them than...
  5. Rust spots. HELP!

That's a common spot to damage paint with stone hits on most vehicles. Its a small bodyshop issue, maybe $500 to repaint the roof. Just hang back further and stop getting blasted behind other drivers. Think of the 2-second rule.
  6. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

I hope not! 15V will damage an AGM battery.
  7. Replacing the Hybrid's OEM 12v. Battery

Manually charging the 12V battery also requires that you reset the BMS, lock the doors and let it sit for 8hrs without touching the app, door handles, etc. The minimum that you will need is 9hrs to do it correctly.
  8. Hybrid vs gasoline

That's guaranteed to happen, given the current administration forcing a halt to most renewable resource projects like wind and solar generation. Nuclear also works, but at much higher cost per kilowatt.
  9. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

No. In mine, a fob inside the truck forces it to auto-auto-unlock. Maybe you could do it with a Faraday pouch, but then you only get to blame yourself when it gets stolen...
  10. Hybrid thoughts

The AWD option gets 2-3mpg less due to increased weight and rotating drag. The 4k option changes the gearing to optimize for towing instead of efficiency. I'd bet that the combination is maybe 7-8mpg less efficient.
  11. Maverick 12v batteries: Stock→AGM→Sodium

It didn't short, there was a poor weld across the top of the plates and it opened.
  12. Hybrid thoughts

Most people make poor decisions and ignore the running costs of a vehicle when making a purchase. Work out the fuel costs between the two drivetrains at 28mpg and 48mpg. The payback for most people is under 2 years.
  13. Hybrid vs gasoline

The Hybrid-unique components like the HVB and all its cooling/heating systems are all covered under the 8/100k warranty. If you want to estimate how long the HVB will actually last, take a look at the NY or Chicago taxis, that routinely are listed as running and in good working order at 500k...
  14. Hybrid thoughts

At 60mph it should get around 45mpg, and at 50mph it will get almost 55mpg. It is not a great idea to pick high-speed highways with a vehicle like a truck, that has the aerodynamics of a brick.
  15. Adding tow hooks

A flat-tow baseplate costs at least US$600. Its possible, but cost-prohibitive.
  16. Leaving 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid (and 23 Escape Hybrid) for 10 days - should we worry about battery?

It will discharge until it goes into deep sleep mode, trying to save the last of the battery to allow you to start it again. Unless the battery is already in bad shape it will start, but that's going to sulfate the battery a lot, so maybe get your 10mm wrench out and disconnect the battery...
  17. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

There isn't one. That's a third-party app and hardware that plugs into the OBD2 port.
  18. Hybrid thoughts

Nope, it's a delaying tactic until the sulfation damage becomes critical An AGM battery that is only charged to 60% will go maybe 3x as long as an EFL or FL battery before it fails, getting Ford out of a lot of warranty claims and leaving you to handle the problem on your dime. The fix for the...
  19. Odd tire wear, possible alignment issue(s)?

Is that just aggressive cornering wear? Most people corner harder in left turns, affecting the right tires more than the lefts.
  20. Aerodynamics question

Some of your dust issue is due to the Maverick sitting lower than the lifted crap that most offroaders buy, and the improved aerodynamics from sitting lower means that it does kick up more dust onto the tailgate. A tailgate seal would help with dust making it into the bed, but it won't help...
