I got the wiper motor recall today as well as the back-up camera sticking recalls today.
Supposedly the stock of wiper motor parts, if needed, is limited.
The back-up camera software issue has NOT been figured out yet ? Per Ford anyway.
I'm NOT getting a real warm and fuzzy feeling out of all this.
We live in Florida.
The heated seats get used quite a lot for easing sore backs and bums when traveling.
You don't need to live in a cold climate to use them.
We have a 2015 Ford Edge with almost 100K that has been a very good car.
Since we( I ?) bought our 2023 Maverick 2.0 Eco FWD last Fall the Edge is pretty much a spare.
I'm considering selling the Edge on but really hate to. Not worth much money anymore.
I WAS planning to drive the Maverick...
Why ?
Your door "bars" will allow plenty of air flow as well as dust, rain, sleet, hail, snow, etc., whether you want it, or not.
Factory doors and power windows allow factory air and heat as well as whatever you want of what the power windows will allow in.
Makes no sense to me.
My 2023 XLT 2.0 Eco FWD Maverick went in to the dealer for a week for an electronic gremlin, which they didn't find.
I was given a brand new Ranger XLT 4x4 as a "loaner".
While I appreciated the loaner I did not like the truck. Bumped my head every time I got in it.
Hard, "notchy" ride going...
If they use much salt on the roads where you are then it might be worthwhile to consider painting that aluminum with a really tough paint to protect it.
Salt does a number on aluminum. It doesn't take that long either.
I got two very small stone chips about 3/4" apart near the bottom of the windshield on 2023 XLT.
Repaired by Safelite, but a crack started on the way home.
Windshield replaced next day by Safelite. Everything is fine again, so far.
On a vacation trip last summer of around 4500 miles the total average was just under 28 mpg.
That included high speed interstate, hills and cities and around town driving.
I was happy.
Whatever you do, make sure that blue windshield washer reservoir cap is snapped down tight.
Mine went missing after a Ford service ? Whether the tech failed to snap it down, or what ?
No way to be sure.
That little piece of blue plastic cost over $ 38 dollars, $ 41+ after tax at the Ford dealer...
Just ordered a set after realizing the plastic OEM door panel is two piece. Inner and outer !
No way to deal with stuff that gets spilled or caught in the gap without disassembling the door.
Some different single color and two tone combinations would be nice.
But, I'll be living with basic black for the duration of my ownership of this Maverick.
I've had two alerts so far.
The first was in heavy traffic but was actually a bit late but I had already reacted and was ok.
The second I think was a phantom but it scared the heck out of the wife.
Nice to have but I'm not sure I can really depend on it.
I dislike Tow/Haul mode.
It doesn't seem to want to let the RV decelerate properly.
At least in the two RVs I've had, both Ford chassis with the V-10 motor.
I have flat towed my 2015 Ford Edge AWD behind my motorhomes.
About 10K so far in tow with no issues to the car.
Speed is normally kept around 65 but 70 and even 75 happens as traffic demands sometimes.
100K on the car odometer with no tow related issues.
The wife and I usually spend a couple days in Sevierville, Tn each year.
Close to Knoxville, Tn on one side and Pidgeon Forge on the other.
Lots to do around the area.
Yes, traffic can be bad, more often up towards Knoxville.
But, that can be anywhere.
Truly amazing twisty roads all over that area of North Carolina.
U.S. 129, aka Tail of the Dragon, then 28 coming north from Franklin, N.C. can be super twisty as is 64 ? heading up from Franklin in to the Highlands.
441 from Franklin up to the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway and then across the...
