  1. DIY HOW TO: Install adaptive cruise control in Maverick Hybrid XLT with Luxury package

@BlueSpec1 @Mas280 @XC64180 Looks like you guys have been using Comma's product. My Comma 4 should be here in a few days and I've already been using the ACC mod for like 18 months. What specifically do I need to do to get this spun up? I'm familiar with Git etc but not familiar with how to...
  2. Selling my Maverick

Can't wait till you post back here with your new 2027 Mav!
  3. Drifting & Tire Wear Maverick Pulls

@ofelco At 10,000 miles I have rotated 2x and not noticed any appreciable adverse wear. I am definitely going to the dealer and armed with your post know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I did notice my passenger CV had grease leaking from it as well, and assumed this was the reason...
  4. Drifting & Tire Wear Maverick Pulls

I have a '23 XLT hybrid with 10,000 miles on it and noticed drifting to the right fairly early on around 6000-7000 miles. I am extremely sensitive to this due to driving a car for 20+ years that could not be aligned straight and I was always compensating. I was looking forward to a straight...
  5. How I “Fixed” Battery Drain

I'm now 100% convinced these are just crappy low end lead acid batteries. I have treated mine with kid gloves. Parked in a garage 99.5% of its life. Nico genius 5 hooked up pretty much 24/7 except when driving. I've got 10,000 miles total on it and vast majority of them are highway trips of...
  6. News: Level 3 Eyes-Off Driving Technology to launch on $30K Ford EV Truck

I bought the Ford radar module for the adaptive cruise control on our Maverick for $230 used, but new it's only like $450. The tech really isn't that expensive when done at scale. Kinda like ABS and disc brakes used to be an upcharge, now they are all standard and cost to repair is very low...
  7. Confirmed - Battery Saver mode doesn't look at the battery health!!! Time to complain

I can't confirm the time frame but can definitely confirm the above. I leave mine on a Noco 5 and will come back a week later and open the door and get no lights. Battery is around 13v and plugged in on a charger lol. Not something I really care about but definitely kinda annoying. I'd give it...
  8. A/C in winter

If it's not 2 mins all at once, it's not getting the job done. You can do what you wish, it's straight out of the manual though. I watch this and when it comes on it turns green. It doesn't turn on hardly ever in the winter for me. And no, it's not broken. It works fine. In the summer, yes it...
  9. A/C in winter

Definitely not true. Like I wrote, I monitor it. I live in the SE USA and it will go months without turning on. It only comes on in humid conditions.
  10. Charging via solar (to keep battery charged when sitting for long time)

I have this exact same unit and it's been in use for several years. It does charge but if put inside the vehicle with a sunshade, it will get EXTREMELY hot and the glue melts. Fortunately, I don't care about the sunshade but it's something to be aware of. I park on the street but if it was in...
  11. A/C in winter

@Meeka Ford recommends running a/c for two minutes every month. I try to do it every two weeks personally and I have a car scanner that shows a/c amps so I make sure it's running at least 1 amp for ~2 minutes.
  12. Oil Change DIY - any negatives regarding warranty?

There are a bunch of oils from various brands that meets the OPs (and mine) requirements: Hybrid 2.5L: Oil that meets Ford's WSS-M2C962-A1 spec (LIST and COMMENTS)
  13. Oil Change DIY - any negatives regarding warranty?

I read a write up of someone who worked at Ford corporate and whose job it was to investigate warranty claims. They said something to the effect of, when noting your oil change, write down the type and quantity filled as well. Here is what I do: I also keep in my logbook a receipt of the...
  14. California extended warranty online discount deals...

Yep they don't even send any mail there IIRC. It's a Ford factory warranty at that point.
  15. Maverick mileage versus my calculations

My 3rd gen Prius is off by 2-3 mpg as well, I noticed my speedometer is 2 mph high at highway speed so this may account for some of it. It thinks I'm driving further than I actually am by almost 3%.
  16. Maverick mileage versus my calculations

You adjust the setting using engineering test mode. There's a bunch of threads on it. When people post their mpg's they are unknowingly incorrect, I used to mention this but have since given up lol. Generally about 5% high.
  17. Buddy’s 2024 Subaru Crosstrek died.

If you want to get another bottle, tell him to cancel that warranty and buy from Granger and save thousands more.
  18. Wild MPG variation in hybrid HIGHWAY mpg: Driving style. Ambient temp, both.

Just fyi the Atkinson engine takes about a 20% efficiency hit from summer high temps to 30*. 36-37 mpg highway going 70 in the summer (even with AC on) will be 29-30 mpg in the winter at highway speeds. I drive the same 400 mile loop year round and set cruise control to 70, fuel up just prior...
  19. Top Tier+ Gasoline

Possibly, maybe. But fast charging is also extremely bad for battery longevity. When it's solved I'll be first in line to buy. The EV driving experience is good.
  20. Top Tier+ Gasoline

While reading this thread I was wondering if one day a "Top Tier" electricity will be sold lol. One more thing they don't have to really worry about though. I really can't wait for that tech to be perfected.
