  1. Question#1: Do you rely exclusively on the oil quality control to know when to change your oil?

This was GM's system but he showed with oil analysis they do a job of predicting when to do it. No one is harming anything doing it earlier, but you're also not going to do any damage following it either.
  2. Question#1: Do you rely exclusively on the oil quality control to know when to change your oil?

It's what they do (IOLM's). They use data and science over decades to come up with general wear guidance and then add a fudge factor.
  3. Turning Off Seatbelt Reminder (2025)

Check the Forscan sub, it's pretty easy. You just zero out four hex lines. Takes like three minutes. I wear my seatbelt but hated that menu and messages.
  4. Question#1: Do you rely exclusively on the oil quality control to know when to change your oil?

That is what the oil life meter tracks my dude. Well, it's calculated into it. If you run mostly super short trips the oil life will deteriorate rapidly based on cycle count, not miles. I've done 400 mile trips and not had the oil life drop, then done a weeks full of short 1-5 mile drives and...
  5. Turning Off Seatbelt Reminder (2025)

Just use Forscan to disable them, including that stupid menu.
  6. Burning Question Still Burns — Maverick 12v. Battery

Yes I understand, I have a Noco genius 5. What I'm getting at is the battery should not have sulfated because it's always been kept charged to a correct amount (roughly 12.7-12.8 volts). Batteries will sulfate when they get low on charge for a long time period (weeks to months). What is a...
  7. Burning Question Still Burns — Maverick 12v. Battery

I'm going to get it checked. But I've had it on a charger pretty much from day 0 since bring it home. Super annoying as I've really babied it.
  8. TFL first hands-on with the 2025 Maverick XLT hybrid AWD

Those are $40k vehicles though. I don't mind bare bones interior in fact I like it. I just don't like how easy it is to damage.
  9. Burning Question Still Burns — Maverick 12v. Battery

I park in my garage so theft isn't an issue. I also keep a charger on it. I'm going to remove the key and keep it in a faraday bag and unhook the charger and see if it holds battery charge.
  10. TFL Slip Test on 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD

This is an example of mission creep. The AWD on the hybrid is AWD, not 4WD. It can get you out of situations that most people will encounter rarely, like being stuck in a muddy ditch or driving in heavy snow. It's not a trail vehicle. The AWD is a consumer drivetrain, it's not designed to be...
  11. TFL first hands-on with the 2025 Maverick XLT hybrid AWD

I mostly dislike the cheap plastics that scrape super easy. Everything else I really enjoy.
  12. Why do we have brake maintenance mode.

Taking apart the brakes every 3-5 years and re-lubing the caliper slide pins etc is a good idea. Also flushing the fluid every 3-5 years as well. Unless you do a lot of towing or drive aggressively, you probably won't have to replace the brakes at all. My wife's Prius had 140k on it and still...
  13. Burning Question Still Burns — Maverick 12v. Battery

No, I leave it in the vehicle. Is that an issue? Why would it keep clicking after that?
  14. Burning Question Still Burns — Maverick 12v. Battery

I'd imagine is has little/nothing to do with the charging of the battery and everything to do with the draw on the vehicle after it's parked. I've turned my comms off, and have no access to the truck via Ford pass app but the thing still pops and clicks for hours after shutting it off. On our...
  15. Remove Wireless Charger 2023 Lariat

That should be the connector for the charger, removing it should just remove power to it.
  16. Remove Wireless Charger 2023 Lariat

I believe you can lift the mat in your console cubby and there should be a door you can pry open. Your wireless pad should be under it and I believe has a USB connection to the charger.
  17. Best Wireless CarPlay Adapter For the Maverick. I have tried quite a few of them already.

Got this today from eBay. $40 seems decent for what it is. Around 20 secs to boot up, which compared to my other one is just a second or two longer but similar. Not a fan out of the LED lights at all, I put electrical tape and heatshrink over it to hide it. Unit does get warm, not sure about...
  18. Ford US Sales Grow Double the Industry Pace in 2024, Led by Trucks & Hybrids (Including Maverick: 131,142 Sold in 2024)

Interesting they include the Mach-E as an SUV not as a car. Also interesting that the Maverick sold better than the entire Lincoln brand. I've wondered why Ford doesn't move towards a more simplified component list for the vehicles, ie making one or two trim levels and just including things in...
  19. TFL first hands-on with the 2025 Maverick XLT hybrid AWD

All anyone wants to know is how well it tows its rated capability and how well it does on minor "off road" trials or boat ramps.
  20. 2024 maverick leaking coolant into spark plug cylinders

Bad gas doesn't cause a head gasket failure. To confirm head failure, a leakdown and/or pressure test should be performed. This truck has a history of coolant loss, this is the #1 sign of head gasket failure. How does the oil look? It is milky in appearance? This is total horseshit on dealers...
