@Glen Baker LLC
It is a pressurized fuel line, so not good to have leaking fuel, of course.
Edit to add para below...
Reporting to NHTSA to be investigated would be the first thing to do, to get the ball rolling, for anyone finding a defect such as the examples shown here.
Andy
Okay, Glen...that freaks me out to see the fuel leaking like that!
Edit to remove my mistaken belief that it was Glen's Mav leaking fuel!
I am glad it wasn't his truck!
Andy
I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the new line will have a synthetic cover like in mine.
Exactly true about "if this becomes a problem"...it already has, as this thread shows.
Fortunately nothing terrible happened in this instance, as the engine was cold.
A big thank you to...
Thanks, for finishing the yard work and getting back to us!
I have had too much time to think, as I was doing yard work as well, till it got too hot for me outside.
I still feel if you haven't done any work in the area, that this should be reported to your NHTSA so they can do an...
The best thing you can do, as you probably have to deal with salt on the roads as well, is to get your truck undercoated with a creeping oil spray like I have done at Krown Rust Control.
There are do it yourself products out there if you are of a mind to do it yourself, of course.
Do not...
Good day
Best way to know where your paint chips are, is to at least dry it by hand after washing.
I just did my accumulated paint chips x2 (from over winter) last week, once the temperatures here warmed up enough.
I had my dealer order in my Desert Sand paint stick (with a brush, the...
Wonderful! Another year covered off, @El Kabong!
So, was 2025 the start of the extra synthetic line protector/heat shield, or did it occur in the 2024 model year?
We all can figure out ourselves that additional items that add cost or time are never added by manufacturers unless it was...
Thank you for your photo, @icegradner
So far 2022-2023's are fitted identically.
If an 2024 Maverick Hybrid owner takes a pic and posts it we will have each earlier year represented.
If a 2026 Maverich Hybrid owner could take and post the same fuel line for our edification, that...
My continuing thoughts, as we await any further feedback from the OP.
In the front of my mind is the thought that if this hazardous situation (vaporized fuel spewing into the potentially hot engine bay) did happen with no exterior forces acting upon the line, is the saving of the subject...
Thank you, Glen
I will assume @rclee has a 2022 and yours is a 2023, also with the orange tag and 1 layer of protection over the fuel line of interest.
It is missing the synthetic sleeve over the suspect area.
And I do note that your line in the area of question is unsullied...no holes...
So I went out to look under my 2025 Hybrids hood, again.
At the point where you only have the thin plastic sleeve, I have a thick synthetic material protective sleeve...)my line tag isn't orange, it is white).
A change made as Ford may have found the area needed more protection?
This...
Good day
Yes, the plastic oversleeve is split and is around the black plastic fuel line (where I peeked under my sleeve to check it was a rigid black plastic line, anyways).
I believe @HeyBales was referring to the damaged point to the right of the orange tag.
So, I am wondering what...
Good day, @rclee
Wow, I am wondering if this is something to report (I have seen much less hazardous incidents reported, here on MTC) to see if this is a widespread issue and is this plastic line under engineered for its potentially catastrophic consequences if it fails!
You may save...
Good day
Yes, your truck was a job 1 build, same as mine if you have the optional tow pkg but no trailer assist ...mine was delivered to my dealer and we picked it up on 25 January, 2025. So, a pretty early Job 1 build.
That was nice of your salesperson, to hold it for you.
I imagine...
Good day
Today's photo was when I had to go see my chiropractor and this F350 Tremor was available for the photo shoot!
( I prefer not parking too close to other vehicles, if at all possible...)
Andy
Good day
Thank you for your suggestion, but I have no need for any backing assist aids. (Sorry, I dont know what the acronym FAFO means).
I have been backing trailers for years, and honed it both maneuvering manure spreaders into barns etc back on the farm as a kid, as well as decades of...
I had it on my 2016 F150, I tried it but preferred backing the old school RV way..."back up till it makes an expensive sound way, way back there"!
😉
That's a joke right there...and "this is NOT the way" to back safely or cheaply!
Andy
Good day
Yep, its a fact that job 1 early 2025 Maverick's (like mine) do not have the trailer assist.
I am not sure when they started installing them in 2025's...maybe in April?
Trailer assist can be a big help, especially for infrequent backer-uppers.
I just wish people would...
I wish it had only been a regular monday junk assembly by some...professionals..but it wasn't.
It stalled and coasted to the side of the road on the 10 mile drive home and all went downhill from there.
We did love it when it worked of course.
Just thinking that absolute piecs of...
