  1. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

I do it all the time when I go to the gym. I have a 2023 Maverick with the factory installed keypad entry so I can use that or the app. In fact, I've been doing since my 1991 Thunderbird that had also the keypad entry on the door. Just don't do anything stupid like leave the key fob in plain...
  2. Auto AC is weak when it is hot outside

I've had Auto climate control in our cars for over 30 years going back to my 1991 Thunderbird. I've had Ford's, Nissan's, Honda's and Jeeps over the years, all with Auto climate control. I've never used it when using AC, I don't know why but I don't like using the auto feature when using AC...
  3. Dealer wants to change my Tranny fluid at 55K miles

The Maverick Hybrid's do not have a CVT transmission, it's an eCVT which is vastly different. The eCVT has planetary gears, they are not a belt & wheel system like a CVT. CVT's typically do require more frequent fluid changes but that is usually not the case for eCVT's.
  4. Interior protection accessories with kids

When our kids were little we always used kick mats on the back of the front seats. Kids love to put their feet up on the back of the front seats. Our kids were pretty good about not doing that but whenever they had friends in the car the back of the front seats were always a mess...
  5. Hood prop too short

I wasn't saying they are the same person, I was just pointing out they share a similar trait. And no one was bothering Mr Trucks and Cars. He got overly upset over a simple joke and then continued to get defensive for no reason. But yes, just let bygones be bygones at this point.
  6. Hood prop too short

Yup, that was him. No we have a Mr Sensitive 2.0 in this thread. I do feel a little bad that his feelings have been hurt but at the same time he needs to not be so sensitive. This is a great forum filled with people who genuinely like to help each other and most everyone can take a joke and...
  7. Leaves / Debris Getting Stuck In Lower Front Grill

I'm constantly getting leaves and some other debris that basically get forever stuck in the lower front grill. The leaves in the pictures below have basically been there since last fall, I waited all winter to see if they would blow out on their own from driving. In the past I've had to vacuum...
  8. GPS Ripoff

Google Maps has started doing that as well with the painful routes only they don't offer a clear option to choose a the route you want. I prefer staying on the highway in most situations on long trips but Google Maps seems to find alternative routes and supposedly they do this because it's Eco...
  9. Maverick continued strong sales in February 2026

Maverick sales keep proving all the keyboard warriors wrong who late 2024 early 2025 proclaimed: FoRd RuInEd ThE mAvErIcK iT'S sO uGlY nO oNe Is GoInG tO bUy OnE oF tHeSe sAlEs ArE gOiNg To TaNk. As I predicted those keyboard warriors couldn't have been more wrong.
  10. How do I know if my maverick has a rain sensor?

How well rain sensing wipers work definitely varies from different auto manufacturers. My wife's old Nissan Murano had rain sensing wipers that seemed to have to rhyme or reason to how they would work. They usually would put the wipers on super fast for no reason at all even in a light mist...
  11. Sirius xm not available in my 2023 XL

I was very young at the time so I don't doubt it was a high quality 8 track player that I had. Even at that age I had limited patience and I remember mostly being annoyed at certain 8 tracks cutting individual songs in half which was absurd. Then in the late 1980's my parents got this fancy...
  12. 2026 Maverick is Edmunds' Top Rated Truck

That is true but those were vastly different times with much less competition. There was no Hyundai/Kia and the Big three of Japan had barely cracked the U.S. market at that time. Honda, Toyota and Nissan's market share changed quickly during and after the 1973 oil crisis.
  13. Sirius xm not available in my 2023 XL

If you're for real with that collection then I think you might be the only person I've ever heard of who has hung on to the worst format for music ever! I've seen people who collect vinyl and there has even been a slight resurgence of cassette tapes recently. But 8 tracks were the absolute...
  14. Sirius xm not available in my 2023 XL

There is an easy fix for that. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/installed-usb-cd-player-in-the-maverick.55525/ https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/cd-player.51862/ https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/so-you-want-a-cd-player.37981/
  15. Rival Santa Cruz to be cancelled

Couldn't she have just put the groceries in the back seat of the Maverick? Sorry, that's all I could think of as I was reading that.
  16. You won't believe what I found in an owners manual (Not a Ford Manual)

That has been a long running joke for over 30 years but there is a documentary on that case and it's enlightening. It will definitely change your perception of what happened. It was an elderly woman who was burned and she was hospitalized and required skin graft's for third degree burns. I...
  17. Rival Santa Cruz to be cancelled

The Baja did not sell well at all in the four models years it was available. Subaru sold about 30K total in 4 years. I know you were at least partially joking but I don't believe it would do much better 20+ years later. I know it's different times now but if you think about it the Santa Cruz...
  18. Manual fuel door release....

Be honest, have you ever really heard of that actually happening to anyone? It reminds of the old urban legend from the 1980's not to flash your headlights at someone because they might be part of a gang initiation and they could chase you down and murder you...
  19. Manual fuel door release....

There is no reason to have a lock on the gas fill door Ford has already thought of that and has prevention in place. "Ford’s capless full filler deters gas theft two different ways. With Easy Fuel, a spring-loaded flapper door is held closed by latches that can only be released by a...
