910 and 2127 are the same size - just thread changed from SAE to metric. NAPA stocks a 2127 equivalent filter.
My local dealer swore my '25 FX4 used the 910 filter (even looked up my build sheet that indicated a 910). I was reasonably certain the new engine used a 2127 so I bought both. Turns...
I never use the the half-way position of the tailgate for hauling items like plywood. Rather, I use a wooden support that is the same height as the wheel wells and tie things down using the tailgate anchors.
There should not be a major difference between the cables at either position. Sure, there may be some minor difference in the tautness of the two cables, but when some weight is added, there is enough flex in the gate that both cables should be taut.
In the down position, sit on the tailgate -...
Things are a little different on a 2025 FX4 - some as a result of the new engine.
1) some changes for the skid plate. It's black now but still two piece, The thinner front plate is held in place by four 13 mm bolts at each end and then a number of torx screws that fasten to the bumper at the...
Just curious - what do people use the 120V outlet for? My understanding is that it can't handle much of what I wanted to use it for (power tools & vacuum). At least I can use it to charge the batteries for my cordless tools.
Thanks - Got to work on my search skills. Happy to find out I don't have the GPF on my 2025 XLT - not really for the possible loss of HP (seems like that might not be the case anyhow), but more for any potential downstream additional maintenance.
I've used CRC Marine Heavy Duty corrosion spray for years. The stuff dries to a non-tacky amber coating that lasts a very long time and does not collect road grime.
Where did you find the right sized plastic snap nuts for the 5/8" square hole? I was looking, but everything I found was too small. I ended up using a rubber well nut.
The snap nut is what Mabett should have used in the first place.
Just a note for those installing this kit. Despite tightening the frame bolts as much as I could (had to use my breaker bar because I couldn't get my torque wrench in there), I found them a bit lose when I checked them after a week's worth of driving. Recommend using some locktite on these bolts...
I removed my plates and found that the housing for the caged nuts had broken when originally tightened (so have a new set on hand if you ever do this). For me, I tossed the caged nuts and used a rubber well nut that was sized for the opening (5/8 inch) along with the correct-sized stainless...
Agree on the stainless hardware. The M12 bolt is ridiculously oversized for this application - but I guess it's dictated by the size of the caged nut required to fit the mounting hole. I'm going to experiment with using a rubber well nut to see how that goes.
Older thread, but wondering if on the 2025 Maverick, there is a way to get rid of preset radio stations? My new truck came with a number of preset stations (dealer?) and I don't necessarily agree with their selections.
The metal plates are aluminum - so no rusting. The new kits come with black painted bolts to prevent rusting. Caged nuts work by compressing the housing when you tighten the nut - no rattling. I optioned to replace all the smaller bolts with stainless steel ones that can be found at any good...
