Ford doesn’t have the commodities to build 100% retail orders. They need to leave some to stock to build less popular configurations to use up the parts they have already bought from suppliers. All orders go through dealers. Retails are preferred as they turn faster.
You won’t need to order on the first day. Dealers will still need to have allocations, there will still need to be available commodities, and there will still be priority codes.
Ford fired 3000 people less than 2 weeks ago. The transition is going to take some time. When all of your schedulers...
I’d be willing to bet you see some 23MY allocation next week. Ford is restructuring the field and there have been some delays. Tim said he was having his wholesale on Monday - maybe he can chime in.
Allocations are used - but for Bronco it isn’t 60 sales/40 availability and there isn’t a 2nd phase. There is a market basket for Bronco. Bronco does not follow the same allocation formula as F150 or Explorer. It has yet to be seen what formula is chosen for Maverick, but I’d wager it is closer...
It should be noted that it is unlikely that this allocation model applies to 23MY Maverick. It does not apply to Bronco for 23MY that is still on a market basket allocation.
Inventory will solve everything. It keeps prices down for customers. Ford isn’t disciplined enough to match production to demand. Ford likes dealers when the dealerships are paying floorplan on 500K units.
