Based on the pictures, it seems that the smaller skid plate, forward the larger skid plate, that attaches to the front bumper is missing. Are we to assume that the smaller skid plate is not used with your design? Or was it just left of for the photos?

The only thing that may work is if you push the mount closer to the horn. The fuse box seems to dip down and may allow enough space but then your have less room to work with when trying to unscrew the can. I also don't know if I like the idea of it rubbing up against the horn.

Looks like there isn't much room to play with the 3.5" may just barely fit. The fuse box is directly underneath it and doesn't leave a lot of space. The only concern would be that the filter fits inside the can so it may not be able to slip out of it during removal.
