  1. Looking For Some Honest Opinions

I don't care for it tbh, but the speed bumps on campus would absolutely love it
  2. After months of searching for lightweight RV... Coachmen Clipper Express 9.0TD

This took a lot of head-scratching to finally understand but I appreciate it much. Tow/Haul mode (not to be confused with one of the preset driving modes?) dumps all (or most?) of the power from ICE directly to the generator, and immediately then to the electric traction motor, bypassing the...
  3. Santa Cruz vs Maverick comparison - One didn't survive...

From the title of this thread I had imagined the failure going the other direction: " ...in a moment of inattention while driving the Maverick, I hit a parking bollard at 8 mph and turns out that was enough to total this unibody. Winner by default is the Santa Cruz"
  4. After months of searching for lightweight RV... Coachmen Clipper Express 9.0TD

That sounds reassuring; however with the output being asked of the Mav in this case, won't it be mostly drawing from the ICE engine anyway on this journey, and therefor fall under the same elevation constraints as EB models? Honestly asking to educate myself, not to argue. It's not an academic...
  5. Thoughts on R/L "Pigtails" and Installing Electrical Components in the Bed Cubbies?

Thank you, that was helpful & I found them. What wiring then is used to put in e.g. an AC outlet or LED light in place of the cubby, and is there a reason owners prefer to install drivers side or passenger side?
  6. Thoughts on R/L "Pigtails" and Installing Electrical Components in the Bed Cubbies?

Hi, my XL came with just screwed-in plates over nothing, where the cubbies go in the bed, behind the taillights. From what I understand there should be 'pigtails' on either side so I could later install lights, outlets etc. in that area of the bed. Offhand I don't recall what side comes...
  7. Nothing Bad

All of us with new vehicles are like this at some point: "This balloon represents your peace of mind. I'm going to POP IT -but I'm not going to tell you when!! & I just realized Denholm is giving us the finger.
  8. Tips for Installing Aftermarket Tie-Downs and Adjustable Cleat Rails Over Ford's SIBL product in the Bed?

Well that's a relief about the drains. I'll look things over (a bit divided right now as other things are on my plate) Thanks much all, I will study this when I can. Already watching that other thread.
  9. Best Maverick Tricks, Tips, and Hacks - Add Yours!

Good to know about the lights. Also it's jarring if you forget to turn it off in the parking lot.
  10. Tips for Installing Aftermarket Tie-Downs and Adjustable Cleat Rails Over Ford's SIBL product in the Bed?

Thanks, I will look all this over. Do wonder though, how job quality tends to compare between factory-installed and dealer-installed SIBL. Also I'm going to DIY what I can without buying the Ford rail kit. Do appreciate your above response in any case.
  11. Best Maverick Tricks, Tips, and Hacks - Add Yours!

This question is why I'm cautious about using Auto Hold, for the folks behind me.
  12. Tips for Installing Aftermarket Tie-Downs and Adjustable Cleat Rails Over Ford's SIBL product in the Bed?

As the title says, I'm seeking pointers on how to add additional aftermarket tie downs, rails or the like over the dealer-added spray-in bedliner that came with my XL. My apologies if I overlooked a similar thread in my searches; I am only starting to get my forum-fu skills here. From what I...
  13. DIY Bed Divider

Impressive -vVery interested in doing something like this. Question though: how is a 2x4 thick enough for the vertical grooves of the bed, or sidewall? Does it rattle and yaw, or is it a tight fit?
  14. Best Maverick Tricks, Tips, and Hacks - Add Yours!

Would appreciate if there were a hack for this for older less-equippped models, because rear visibility in Mavericks is, well, shite.
  15. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

That's ...extensive. 😲 Thanks! Are these upgrades sorted by most recent first?
  16. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

It was about the only push I made for the dealer to sweeten the deal.
  17. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

Thank you yes, I'd heard as much. I've been getting out 2-3 times a week for short errands, taking the interstate occasionally, so I think this is enough activity to keep things good.
  18. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

We appreciate the well wishes. Health is returning. In a perfect world I would've chosen Area 51, but it's a question of availability, and at least white reflects well for the summer.
  19. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

Isn't that a pisser? Yes, I may add something so I can have front tow hooks. The idea of a breakdown in the wilderness and needing to get some sort of vehicle pallet think underneath it concerns me. As has been said elsewhere, it's a plastic vehicle. Would have to keep an eye on what this...
  20. Often-Parked Owner of "new" 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid

Thanks for the kind wishes. It's a long road to recovery but going well right now. I've been in touch with Granger already -fyi they report Ford may again raise their rates in October, like they did April 1.
