This is a great idea only if the towing vehicle receives substantial benefit. A little less drag and better braking won't be enough, and there's no way you charge-while-driving because of the huge penalty to the towing vehicle.
This is true, to a point... you're really looking for 3PMS, 3-peak mountain snowflake icon. All snow tires will have it. In recent years, good summer tires have been introduced with 3PMS.
These have a 3PMS. I've put them on 4 cars. They handle like snow tires in the snow. My wife, a teacher...
The first is a 2.0L Ecoboost, the second is a hybrid. Look at the left dial. The lowest part is where regen level registers. They might also represent different trim levels.
I have not had any 12v issues on either hybrid, but I read forums, so can report what others have experienced.
Ford's issue does not involve charging. I see no reports of low voltage while running. I measure 14.5-15v.
The problem is a parasitic load that discharges the battery after the car is...
It's mechanically very reliable, but the Maverick Hybrid will be a descendent of a hybrid system that's had 12v battery drain issues on the last two generations. Nothing to do with the hybrid drivetrain. per se, but rather the unique software. TSB issued for affected Escapes; mine's been fine to...
I understand severe service will change things, but this is what Escape does ...
- oil monitor will require a change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, which ever comes first. .
- the hybrid interval will be 10,000 engine miles, so lots of EV can stretch it to 15-16K miles.
My dealer does a...
Adding a little detail, E85 is 85% ethanol, and you need a "flex fuel" vehicle to use it.
Most gas is E15, 15% ethanol.
I use ethanol free, E0, and see about 7-8% MPG improvement.
I also run AC all the time, and just hit a new high of 51.1 MPG. Wind, rain and cold will show a 15% hit, but not AC.
The discussion of handling and vehicle dynamics is spot on, but a hybrid drivetrain changes a couple things regarding mileage.
Weight is demoted to a secondary effect by use of regenerative braking. It's not perfect, you only get 85-90% return, but that's enough to knock a 10% effect down to...
Likely similar to the Escape Hybrid.
I've attached a shot of the digital dash, too.
And here's a tip: get analog if you wear polarized sunglasses. The LCD version black out.
My last three cars have been RWD, FWD and AWD, a Volvo, C-Max and Escape. We average 8 feet of snow, and none of the three ever got stuck.
IMHO, I find AWD-on-OEM tires much better than FWD-on-snows which is only a little better than RWD-on-snows. RWD is the most fun to drive...
The bigger...

All EV/hybrid cars have to make noise at low speed. That's fairly new NHTSA requirement.
Engine sound in the cockpit is old news, and you like it.

It's hard to look at it from a growth perspective, which is what finance normally seeks to achieve.
Look at it more like a retirement fund that's not replenished very often (fuel-ups).
- you have long term investments (gas tank) that you tap rarely, preferably at market peaks (highest...

I don't know what this means, but it sounds untrue of any CVT.
Not completely wrong, just mostly, especially the part about the clutch. Do some research on TRW's power split device (PSD).
It is true that the traction motor "can only provide traction power at final drive ratio." This motor is...
It's a bad fit with a power split transaxel. Hyundai is advertising one, but their hybrids are conventional drivetrains with a low-speed motor in-line and a really big, belt-driven alternator (based on 2016 Sonata Hybrid).
It's also going the wrong way... turbo engines suck gas like much...
