  1. Maverick Delivered

Pictures or it didn't happen! Kidding. Congrats on getting your Maverick. Your journey ends where mine is just about to begin. Hope you enjoy your new truck.
  2. Id rather have a PHEV Maverick

Sure, flexibility is good. EVs can actually smooth out grid requirements which is why Tesla asked owners to charge at night in Texas... Power plants can't cycle from full blast at 3pm to a lot less at night so keeping a steady state by charging cars is helpful. That's why there are electrical...
  3. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

We love our EV... but I'm pretty sure no person alive had the idea since the first electric car was back in the 1800s..., nor is it a brain dead idea. Daily, we NEVER use more range than our EV has and it's the smoothest accelerating car I've ever had and faster than all the mustangs I've had...
  4. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Realistically, 300 mile range is more than most bladders care to deal with. In the 620 miles between Shreveport, LA and just south of Atlanta, GA, we'd stop twice - even in our younger days and driving my Mustang, we'd stop twice even on trips without kids. It was a 10 hour slog... (not...
  5. Id rather have a PHEV Maverick

People are lazy. If they don't have to, they probably won't plug in every day negating a lot of the community improvement of increased efficiency. I mean, it'd still be better than my 2.7L F150 getting it's 20.0 mpg... Personally, if they offer a PHEV version of the Maverick, I'd get it. I...
  6. Ford CEO Responds to Price Markups

Kind of like Tesla's online sales with no haggling. You pick up your car at a Delivery Center which, I suppose, could be a stand-in for a dealer except they are the same company. Maintenance is either through the Tesla Road Rangers who come to your car or at the nearest maintenance facility.
  7. Ford CEO Responds to Price Markups

Right. I called on a Hybrid that a dealer nearby had. They wanted $17,000 above markup. That's a 50% graft to take advantage of a customer. Well, they lost me as a customer for life over that. Screw them.
  8. Maverick Tremor Official Release! – Specs, Pics, Videos. Priced @ $2,995

This makes no sense to me at all. Ford has trouble meeting production needs for their current versions of the Maverick so they go and introduce more versions? I suppose if demand was light and it just worked out that they couldn't produce the few they needed, someone at Ford could have decided...
  9. Maverick deliveries ramping up in Nebraska

Anyone in the Omaha/Papillion area with a hybrid version they'd show me? I've driven the 2.0L but am uncertain of the CVT whine. My plan is to order one as soon as possible anyway but I'd like to know what I'm getting into if possible.
  10. 🗓 Update: 2023 Maverick ordering opens August 15 (Hybrid) & August 25 (Gas). Production begins October 24 (All Models)

I'm not sure what you are saying but I was saying that Tesla found a way to make vehicles, even their newest one much faster than Ford, which I would argue should have the production process down. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Ford fan - 3 mustangs (Well, one was a Mercury Caprice with Mustang back...
  11. 🗓 Update: 2023 Maverick ordering opens August 15 (Hybrid) & August 25 (Gas). Production begins October 24 (All Models)

  12. Ford Adds Harsher Penalty to Stop Brokers, Resellers

I was quoted $34,590 (well, $34k something) and then he said "Plus $17,000 over MSRP"... Shawnee Mission Ford. I hung up on him. Also, I don't have a cool doomsday clock but my current job is really relevant to that. ;)
  13. Ford Adds Harsher Penalty to Stop Brokers, Resellers

Is it possible that Ford is splitting of its' EV division into Ford E so that they don't violate any kind of dealer contract when they shift to online sales? I mean, they left the ICE business alone and dealers have access to all vehicles right now but Ford could change their process and say...
  14. Is Co-pilot 360 Worth The Wait?

    Averaging 70 isn't the same as top speed... 1400 / 100 mph = 14 hours of driving 1400 / 90 mph = 15 hours 1400 / 80 mph = 17.5 hours 1400 / 70 mph = 20 hours It's just hard imagining driving over 80 mph for 17 hours of a day.
  15. Is Co-pilot 360 Worth The Wait?

1,400 makes for a lot longer day than I can do! I had a Shreveport to Atlanta that I ran quite often (and of course Atlanta to Shreveport) that was 620 miles and we got that down to a 10 1/2 hour day. I don't think I could make the trip there and back in one day. 1,400 miles divided by 24 hrs...
  16. Is Co-pilot 360 Worth The Wait?

Gotta respect 6 million miles of driving accident free. That's 100,000 miles per year for 60 years. Not many of us will ever see that many miles. It'd take me 5 years just to hit 100,000 miles and thus 50 years to hit my first million (. I'm guessing you are a truck driver which gets another...
  17. Theory on why the hybrid is now the base model

Ouch! I'm hoping that when the 2023 info gets released, there's a bit bigger EV battery than that 1.1 and perhaps even a 10-20 KWH battery... Offering a plug-in hybrid version would be outstanding. I just have an 8 mile drive to work.
  18. Consumer Reports: Maverick Test Report updated to include Hybrid

to be fair, I just dragged the curser over all the text and hit <cntrl-v> and then <cntrl -p>. But, thanks! Glad to be a helpful contributor.
  19. Theory on why the hybrid is now the base model

I thought the battery was straight from the Escape.
