Great job, I am just about to do something similar but I didn't think to 3D print a new cover to keep it covered, I was considering buying another cubby for that side and putting it inside, but I could save that money and do something like this. If you end up sharing the STL file let us know.
It is surprising how much iron ends up on things. We had some high quality stainless that was rusting and after going back and forth about the quality level and nickel content we discovered that it was just the surface iron from environmental fallout that is rusting on the stainless steel.
Mabett mud flaps $40, not sure if these are the preferred ones on here, I'll have to search, but they don't look like they will harm the paint where they mount as I have read others do.

Great job guys. I am working on my own drawer under bed solution out of wood and was going to try to match the factory bed coating and paint it with bed liner coating. Is this wood you have here painted with bed liner coating and if so what brand/type and how did you apply it?
I skimmed this thread but didn't see it mentioned, I am curious if anybody has tried adhering the strip to the hood and if that gave enough exposure to get the "dynamic light effect" but could also double as under-hood and task/area lighting when the hood was open? Of course wires would have to...
I went to look and it is a pretty brilliant idea since it would be locked secure and at maybe 4-5" deep. You'd have to get hydraulic hood lifts, but it could attach to the hood and hinge down to a level tray. Not sure what I would put there, I tend to fill storage areas and never access them...
I'm thinking of getting one as I still have a wall of CDs and will still buy used CDs for $1 or so. The player seems to sit pretty good right in front of the center console cubby and you can drop the CD in the from the top. There seem to be 2 brands/styles, one is shown in a YouTube video so...
There is nothing political about the free market capitalism involved in hybrid and EV demand and sales anymore than the small car demand in the late 70s, it is just silly when people start harping about narratives and such when it comes down to frugality and use. Car companies are always 6...
Picking it up on Saturday! Appreciate everybody's input and help!
I have the VIN now, but it doesn't tell me much on Ford website. I don't have the original order number.
From what I can tell there is not problem with warranty transferring to me as it is tied to the vehicle. Is that correct?
Were they able to sign it on the car or did you take it off for them? Very cool, I got to meet Foose getting on a plane recently, very nice guy. This might be the winning place to sign if they will sign it. I like how it is a hidden spot and you can take it off if you had to sell the car.
Who said it was Hollywood? Could be Jay Leno or car related or a musician or Ford related or Cheryl Tiegs. Just curious, it's not like I'd have a Kardashian sign the dashboard or anything, was just thinking it would be fun to call it the signature edition. Eddie Bauer signs his cars and...
Thank you. I embrace cheesiness and plan on driving this thing into the ground, so it would just be for my fun story. It's not for bragging rights or selling it as celebrity-owned. My high school musclecar was in Top Gun, in the sweaty volleyball scene, so I make plenty of jokes and have fun...
I admit I used his name as clickbait, so pick your favorite celebrity, driver, stuntman, playmate, etc.
2 votes so far for "dumb idea". I can do a poll later, ha ha, but I am curious if there is a spot/panel that is signable.
Typically it is the glove box, but is there another panel (maybe removeable) than can be autographed with a sharpie and look good?
Has anybody taken apart the dash or other interior panels that has any input? I don't have my Mav yet so I can't look myself.
If you were buying a Mav from a...
I am coming from a 2008 Toyota Prius that I had been using as a "pruck", with 8ft material fitting inside. Hope to be a Maverick owner this week, and I've been wanting a hybrid truck for a long time, but one that actually gets close to my Prius MPG. Along comes the Maverick after every other...
Thank you, I forgot about the interior outlet and it makes sense the inverter is near it in the interior and closer to the 12v battery, then 120V wiring to the bed outlet. For DIY I might look at putting an inverter in the bed, but that will need a heavy gauge 12v run.
