Maybe it will help, I don't know. I didn't remove the lux believing it was a guarantee, but it seems like I have a better chance of it getting built sooner rather than later. If it takes too long I'll have to figure something else out, I don't have a vehicle of my own any longer and I was...
Welp, I did it. Went to the dealer, talked to a seemingly nice gentleman who confirmed what I already knew, luxury packages are very constraining right now, he said what we on the forum already know, only about 13% of orders with the lux package are getting built.
This guy, not someone I spoke...
Also, be sure you order without any options, including an engine, transmission, or windows. At this rate, everything will be constrained by the 2023 model year.
edit: I would suggest getting round wheels, but you'll have a better chance of taking delivery if you get the default square ones...
Get your Mav order in one day one, when MY 23 opens up. Don't expect to actually get one until 2023, especially if you order a hybrid.
I mean maybe by then things will be different by then, but the way the world is turning...maybe not.
If there are truly no options, accessories whatsoever except moonroof, then the MSRP is $31,655.
Less than $32k brand new, and they're asking for $38k used. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Hard pass.
But, it's a free country, spend yo' money as you please!
So it's a lariat ecoboost with all wheel drive and a moonroof. Does it have 4k tow package? Does it have any other packages/options?
You could find out exactly how it was equipped and build on the Ford site to see how much it would be at MSRP.
Why wouldn't the dealer get the money back from Ford? Was the salesperson just mistaken? Was he/she lying?? Sounds like Ford is pretty official about price protection to me?
This sounds extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Maybe the salesperson needed to be more familiar with the price...
I wouldn't trust that dealer to do anything. I wouldn't leave without them selling it at the correct price. I really REALLY doubt they don't know about the price protection.
The sticker tells you exactly what MSRP is, it's right there. 30,705 plus 1495 for delivery. $32,200.
7k markup is insane. Might as well go buy a brand new Ridgeline at that price.
Thank you for your response.
I'm considering going to my dealer this weekend to drop the lux package. I would be fine sticking with my Mav order if I was scheduled for a June build...as long as I knew I was scheduled for a June build. I guess if I don't get any notification that I'm scheduled...
Looking at your description, how in the hell is a July ecoboost still not scheduled? I understand you have constrained items, but they were not constrained in July. This seems insane.
Really thinking about removing my lux package but I'm not sure it would make much of a difference at this point.
