  1. AWD Hybrid Maverick Prototype Possibly Spied Testing

I'm thinking the 2.1 might, just might indicate the battery size, and this is a 4k Tow variant, with a larger battery & higher output electric motor. The box on the door sure looks like a vapor cannister to my eyes, and that possible PHE-V sort of looks like FMC-V (Ford Motor Company Vehicle)...
  2. Ford Maverick turning radius?

Fords tend to have take more space turning than other brands, or at least their fwd setups do. My GMC Envoy & current Outback put a former Escort to shame in that department, even both beingsubstantially larger. The Windstar's turning radius was positively huge.
  3. November Hybrid Orders United

I'm a member, ordering the last day 11/15, Lariat w/Lux (which includes CP360)...wanted the heated mirrors & spray-in liner, and easier to clean ActiveX. (Easier to clean, even with the covers, dog hair ends up on the seats). Saving grace is I should be D-Plan once she's scheduled, produced...
  4. Air Conditioning Thoughts

I was wondering about the a/c, since like all newer vehicles, it used 1234yf refrigerant, which is less efficient (and more corrosive btw), than 134a. Ask any independent repair shop, and they'll tell you the new stuff, while loads better for the environment, isn't nearly as efficient as 134a...
  5. 📄 2022 Ford Maverick EcoBoost & Hybrid Reviews List & Videos Here!

Consumer Reports Review is LIVE....and they like the Maverick more than the Santa Cruz. The Maverick even barely edged out the road-test score, and apparently the predicted reliability of the Hyundai has dropped to below average. While Hyundai beat the comfort & quietness category, although...
  6. Fake engine and hybrid exterior sound in Maverick hybrid 2.5L?

So, has anyone found a way to alter the sound, to something more pleasant, perhaps with Forscan?
  7. 15% Ethanol Fuel? [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

I'd rather not, lower mileage, shown to corrode some parts quicker (especially aluminum, if memory serves), and horrible for the environment in warm weather. The only real positives are it's renewable, and does absorb water from the tank. Most of your 'dry gas' products are basically...
  8. Ford: Maverick orders are now scheduled in the order they are received

Given constraints, I wonder if they have two order queues, one for EB and another for Hybrid, given they originally only planned for 40% builds being hybrid. - Or they scan the list, and skip over the >40% or constraint of the hybrid drivetrain. Just wish for planning purposes, I knew about...
  9. Spied! High-Performance Ford Maverick ST in the Works?

If you look real carefully at the rear bumper cut-outs, you can see what looks like 2.5 or 3 inch pipes, there's a definite circular outline of a pipe inside the square cut-outs. - Its difficult to see, but they're definitely there. Maybe it's the trimming to hide the wheel well bulges making...
  10. Why does remote start cause hybrid issue?

At least one member connected a scan tool and noticed the ambient temperature sensor was reading incorrectly, as something like -20, when the temp was around 10-20 degrees. Appears the firmware might be reading or interpreting the voltage levels from from the temp sensor incorrectly, below a...
  11. 3/24 Scheduling Email Received Group [EMAILS NOT YET RECEIVED]

Wow, nobody? - I'd personally fall out of my chair, if I received an email, being a November order, but can't rule it out, as it seems almost like playing roulette, waiting for the wheel to stop. Since we get winter, I want the Lux Package on my Lariat, with CP360.
  12. 📬 3/17 Scheduling Email Received Group [EMAILS NOW ARRIVING!]

My prediction, only orders for Green Mavericks will be scheduled today! Unless the Luck of the Irish should occur, not expecting an email, having been a fairly late to join the ongoing party.
  13. How's the Interior noise? NVH?

Reviewers have been all over the place on the NVH front. Some praising how quiet they are, other indicating there's significant noise, naming the engine (2.0), and wind noise at highway speeds past the windshield & A-pillars. Consumer Reports on their 'initial' testing, as they build the 2000...
  14. Chevrolet is working on a new compact pickup truck for 2023 called the Montana

I'd be surprised if that makes it to the US, the current model is South America/Mexico only. Very small engine in the current model, so doubt the v6 reports. If it is true, you know that saying about a dollar short and a day late, well they're $1.50 per gallon late. And it sure does look...
  15. 2023 Maverick intel. / speculation / spy photos (repository)

Ford likes to change something every year, and my guess would be either a PHEV version, or adding AWD to the Hybrid models. Of course, if the chip shortage continues, expect items requiring additional chips to be dropped/de-contented. And there was big news a few months back, that Ford...
  16. Help Clothing Static Electricity, Hybrid

I've had that with just about every cloth seat vehicle I've owned. Vinyl seats, no problem, leather, no problem, most cloth, get a good zap when I touched a grounded surface, or had the clingy feel until I did. You'll find that it happens more when wearing certain types of material, as...
  17. From what are you coming from?

Chose Car/CRV, since my '12 Outback is sort of a cross between a car and an SUV.
  18. Anyone install hybrid engine cover?

The cynical side wonders if the cover melts, should the surge/hot-red catalytic issue occur. - My mind works like that, I admit it. At least there's a TSB, with a proposed fix by late March, so the issue will be a non-issue soon. For the record, I like the look with the cover, just not sure...
  19. Soft paint? Rock chips after 400 miles

Sadly, a sign of the water based ecologically friendly paints, combined with the cost cutting done most manufacturers. Easily damaged paint isn't only a Ford thing, even many import brands are having complaints regarding the thickness and durability of their paints. Some colors are more...
  20. Has anyone else who placed an order in October heard any news?

Just put tires on my current vehicle (Subaru Outback), with runs great, so I'm content to wait. Actually, if they want to roll mine into 2023, but keep the ordered pricing, I'd be fine with that quite honestly. While I'd like a newer vehicle, I don't immediately need one, as my 2012 Outback...
