Back around 1969, summer i think, me and a couple high school friends decided we needed an adventure so one of our friends gave us a ride from our area Palos Verdes, to near Torrey Pines (near San Diego). We found a slightly wooded spot and set up a campsite where we could sleep while we roamed...
Exactly the same as our 23 xlt hybrid. No options. Sort of wish I had got the extra cameras, but given production constraints I thought we had the best chance of getting the truck if I kept it simple. Puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. But to be honest, given my lack of true depth...
This truck has no known flaws or problems. There are real problems in our town with vehicle (and tire) thefts. My guess is that someone tried unsuccessfully to rip off and some alarm scared them off. But the lights, do they blink when the alarm goes off? I know for example that if you hit...
A couple nights ago, at about 4am, I heard a honking sound. Sounded like our horn. I went out the front door but not out the front gate because I was a bit under dressed. I wasn't sure if it was our alarm or a nearby neighbor. I could see our truck when the alarm honking was going on. But...
We are close to our first service, about 13 months after receiving truck, at about 7k miles. The sales end of the dealer we bought from were fine to work with. But when I looked into the service side, and saw the customer reviews, which were terrible, I decided to do the service at a different...
Seems like I started something. A big thank you to all of you for following up with your insights and photos. My last truck was an old (2001) Tacoma. So I do feel like I'm driving a monster truck. Maybe my bias of thinking that I am king of the road needs some adjustment. Thanks to all again.
This image at another thread does not seem right to me. It looks like photo trickery. Does another have other evidence in the way of a photo that shows the relative size? In the photo below if the Mav. is 6' wide, the truck on the right would be 11' wide. Doubtful.
I'm what you might call a visual person. The photo at the start of this thread, IMHO, has the relative sizes of the 2 trucks in relation to the Mav., incorrect. Those big trucks are not twice as wide as the Mav. So either photoshop or a wide angle lens. It also seems like the Mav. though...
Our recall went fine. Tech showed up at our house. it is running great, 6k miles. Also, we tried premium gas (costco, less than mid grade elsewhere) and mpg seems to have gone from low to mid 40's to mid to high 40's.
Regarding fuel economy, it is strikingly better with premium on our hybrid. What used to return 44-45 is now returning 49-51. And the costco premium is less expensive than the gas station middle grade. 17 mile trip today, mostly freeway modest speed: 53. Worth it.
I wonder if those who...
I have an observation and a question.
Observation: Decided to fill up at Costco. They only have the low grade regular and premium. So got premium for 4.79/gal. That's about a dollar less than the medium grade I usually get at ordinary gas stations. What is surprising is the gas milage. I...
We just had our second recall service on our '23. 20 minutes at our house by our dealers mobile technician. Last car I bought (99 Forester) had no computer. When you buy a phone or a computer, the software is good to go and no further changes are needed? Didn't think so. If you hear your...
I doubt the other driver had anything to do with it. It was all the work of his truck, once it noticed the Maverick. Pretty much like the obese lady that can't get enough up close experience with the shapely one. Hoping that something will rub off. Not unusual for a RAM truck.
I stopped it after a few minutes. Too soon? Presenter seemed to me more driven by his social status/acclaim than engineering details. That said I love our truck.
