I would genuinely be interested in a 2024 model if any of these speculative situations came to fruition - I'll have my current Mav paid off by the time the replacement arrives ;)
of course I'm still in love with the concept of an AWD V758/transit connect van with a Maverick nose... so we'll...
I've been nothing but thrilled with my Maverick, and the more I drive it the more I love it. Plenty of power from the 2.0 and the ride is like a car - very spacious interior and easy to access stuff I throw in the bed. What else can you find or a brand new vehicle with AWD for less than $25k?!?
I'm telling you guys, just switch to the FWD ecoboost, you won't be sorry. I fully believe that unless you're in nose to tail traffic all day, the hybrid isn't worth it.
Sure, a V-8 full size might be impractical for some, me included, but trucks are nearly mandatory if you're not living in some sort of urban environment. I'm just going to assume the author still doesn't know how to parallel park and gets scared on the on-ramps....
Toyota can't compete with the Maverick - best shot they have is a Rav-4 based Santa Cruz competitor; Toyota cannot get a product to market for less than $25k.
The only two businesses that have platforms that can be exempt from the "chicken tax" are Jeep and Nissan - VW could, but I think...
I had my 6' 3" coworker in the front passenger seat, and she thought it was comfortable - I'm 5' 7" on a good day, and my wife is 5' 3" so we think it's super roomy :p
More importantly, it fits in my garage along with our CRV!
Next year? Oh heck no - they'll be lucky not to crash their whole order system with the '23 model years. Not to mention, they're also gearing up to build the Z758 ( Mav-based Transit Connect), so I doubt we'll see any major changes like that at least until 2026.
I would love to get a little camper like that! Great setup for a couple for a weekend! Heck, id probably drag it to the city for a day trip just to have a dinette and a toilet when doing a food run
I do think the Santa Cruz is going to be a great vehicle for a lot of people - I feel like the Maverick is 70% truck and 30% CUV while the Santa Cruz is more like 60% CUV and 40% truck. I have a coworker who is actually interested in the Santa Cruz, because she’s used to an SUV, but would like...
I really like In-N-Out and want to get a quick double-double, but I just saw there’s a five course prime rib dinner at the steakhouse across town and now I can’t decide…
But in all seriousness, the Maverick is capable of dragging along some passengers, but not at all like a mid-sized SUV...
I’ve put less than a tank of gas through mine, but with a bunch of city driving and some freeway commuting (usually 70mph) I’m at 26.7 mpg. I feel like it really benefits when driving like an old lady
If I had to do it again, I would skip anything and everything that you can’t get done aftermarket. The bed liner is nice, but I’m sure local place could do as good or better for quality and price. The tonneau cover is also something to add-on after you take your truck home.
Dang, I still had the contract and price with my signature and ID, the sales guy mentioned markup, but I showed him the buy sheet and he got rid of it. I think if you got the genuine build sheet they’re supposed to hold to it per Ford.
I mean at this point, there’s markup On nearly anything...
Got my Maverick home this weekend. Very positive experience with Corning Ford (in Corning... don't worry, no one knows where it is and I'd like to keep it that way;)). They move a LOT of trucks, so they have a great allocation. Easy to deal with and no BS.
Ford is willing to take a penalty by selling the hybrids cheap because it bumps up their corporate MPG target - the base hybrid is literally a loss-leader for Ford.
I don't believe the 3-cylinder will ever be included with perhaps the exception of it being used in a two motor setup hybrid; the...
