When I first started looking for a Maverick this time last year, their were none to be had. I told the sales guy that I wasn't in a hurry so let me know when/if one became available. My only requirement was AWD. Fairly quickly the dealer called me and said they just got in a fully loaded Lariat...
When both engines were the same price the hybrid was a no-brainer for lots of people. The exception being those who tow or need 4WD. I fall into the later camp. A 4WD hybrid would have been tempting (assuming you could find one) but now with the price premium, it would take me 10 years to break...
I agree. I'm all for fair wages but asking for a 46% pay raise while working 20% fewer hours is nuts. A more realistic demand would be for profit sharing. Automakers should be passing along a portion of their profit to the workers.
That's 10 minutes to remove with the lid open and access to the mounting screws from the inside. From the photo, it doesn't appear that there's an easy way to pry it out if locked. You might be able to use a Sawzall to cut out the entire center console but that seems pretty extreme.
Of course the Maverick could be smaller. The F150 is just ridiculously huge. I honestly think the Maverick should be considered a midsize truck but Americans keep demanding bigger and bigger vehicles so there's nothing smaller.
Where's that graphic that shows the F150 over the years? The...
I agree. Remember, airbags are intended to prevent serious injuries. The airbag deployment itself can cause contusions and bruising or possibly much worse (hence the reason for the recall).
Okay so those are nowhere close to being a fair comparison. Would you pay 10x the cost for a house?
Yes a dealer can charge whatever markup they want but those that have ADMs in the thousands are settling for immediate profits over long revenue from repeat customers. Personally, I wouldn't buy...
"Would they just give me fair market value amount in cash and say "good luck." Yep, pretty much. I'm almost positive that you'd lose your 1.9% financing. The old loan would get paid off and then you'd be subject to current market rates.
Yeah I realize that the paint and fabric package is worthless. Still, I feel like they were pretty fair considering how in-demand the Maverick is so I'll let them collect the kick-back from the Finance company.
I was charged an 8.9% rate when I bought my Maverick last month. The dealer was mostly honest in that they were willing to sell at MSRP (+ a $1k paint and fabric protection package). I wanted to pay cash but the dealer wouldn't sell it to me unless I financed thru them so they could also profit...
First truck since a 1990 Jeep Comanche and first Ford. I've been driving SUVs for 3 decades but now I need something with a bed and the Maverick was the obvious choice. I got my AWD XL for well below $30k. No other AWD/4WD truck comes close to that.
In Missouri, Costco gas runs 20 to 30 cents cheaper than at most gas stations. Their premium is an even better deal since they consistently charge 40 cents more as opposed to a 60 cent difference at most gas stations. Still, you'd have to run the numbers to see if you'd recoup your membership.
