Just a styled bezel/trim piece. That type of feature may have something to do with aero effect also. The air gets a bit squirrely at the back of the truck cab so this could help.
Ordered a my23 hybrid on September 20th, 2022. Rolled over to MY24 in July 2023 (with some options removed). Still getting 45 day emails, but nothing else.
This is curious... I finally got around to calling the Ford Marketing Center just yesterday. They said both my '23 and '24 orders were in the system and waiting for scheduling. They also said they couldn't give me any info on the priority of either order, but I'd have to contact my dealer for...
Old guy from the days of 'yore' here 😁... In the 1990's and the decades before that, there was a rather miraculous 'technique' that auto companies used to entice the auto buying public into believing the company had more models on offer than they actually did. This was called (--echo effect...
An electric Maverick like you describe would be very cool. Unfortunately the cost of it wouldn't be anywhere near what the Maverick cost now (even with the increases we've seen in past couple of model years). Ford can't make enough of them now because it's an affordable model with great utility...
Haven't gotten my truck yet ('23 or '24), but I'll need the original 'SnugTop' for mine because I'll be needing the slightly extra height than a 'cab high' topper. I hope this question gets answered before I get mine, but I'll take some measurements when it gets here.
My friend has a Chevy with the switchblade key like the Maverick's. It's the buttons on the fob that'll fail quicker than anything. The spring assembly hasn't failed yet (after 13 years of use).
I think the only constraint option on mine (waiting 8 months also) is the tow hitch. I've heard that you can't get an aftermarket hitch installed (or that it may cause problems), so that (and the low price option) is why I stuck with it.
I'd tend to agree with this because I've seen decent results at about a tenth of the price. But I know some people don't have the patience/skill to go the 'sewn on' route. Bought my '14 Escape used and installed a sewn on leather wrap. It's been about six years and it's still very nice (looks...
Mine didn't come either. No idea what it means but I'd like to think they're too busy building my vehicle (or finding the parts to build it) that they don't have time to send out emails. That's about as positive as I can be right now. 🙂👍
AFAIK, the hybrid only has two drive statuses (I hesitate to call them modes): All electric, or hybrid (the 2.5L helped along with the electric drive motor). I wouldn't think they'd have the vehicle powered by just the 2.5L, unless it's a 'limp home', because the drive motor died for some...
*Sigh*... I went with a smaller dealership for my order (so my wait might be a allocation issue). The only constraint on mine is the towing hitch, which you can't get in the aftermarket unless you don't need the harness. Since I knew there would be a wait, I may as well get what I want/can...
This is a very cool mod. It kind of answers my question about adding a 'sentry' cam in this location (like what we've seen on some electric cars). Looks like it's entirely possible, but I'm sure it'll depend on the sheet metal opening and what's behind it. Heh... I don't have my Maverick yet...
Although very interesting, these all confirm to me that Ford hit the nail on the head with the current styling and packaging of the Maverick. It is its own design (slightly resembling the F-150) with timeless styling and great utility. I do sincerely hope mine gets built. It will be a darn near...
