It is the same engine but the output has been dialed back from 250hp to 238hp. The reason for that (if I understand correctly) was to mee some California emission rule.

Yep, saw that too. But it seems those settings are only if you REMOTE START the truck. If you're sitting in the drivers seat and push the start button it goes to the default of AUTO.

It seems the software was revamped from 2024 to 2025. There are no climate control settings accessible from the steering wheel. I'll have to check & see if it can be done via Forscan.

There should be options in the various menus for start up state. You should be able to configure a default state and have an option to startup to last sate before you shut down. This seems like it should be pretty simple for the software engineers to do.
