Okay, my wife ordered one of these for me for Christmas, and there is about a 3 week backorder time. Now I am seeing that this is only listed for the 2.0L AWD models (I have the hybrid AWD). Are there any knowledgeable Ford techs out there who would know why this would not be compatible with...
Well, this is encouraging. At least worth investigating further. I don't mind dropping the driveshaft and lowering the exhaust (not shown in this picture), I just don't want to drop the diff. Thanks for your post.
Online, it says for rear sway bar replacement, you must remove the exhaust and drop the rear differential. If that's the case, I'll just have to live with the understeer.
After I look under my maverick to see if this could be switch out in any reasonable amount of time. I think I know what I'm getting for Christmas... Upgrading the rear sway bar on my 2013 Fusion hybrid made a night and day difference. The understeer on the Maverick is probably the only thing I...
The PTU holds no more than 20oz of fluid.
From a video I saw on YouTube, where this guy mounted a go-pro underneath his Ford with the intelligent AWD system, the vehicle ALWAYS starts out in AWD. It disconnects only if the conditions warrant and as you approach what looks to be about 50mph. I...
My average over the last 5K miles is 38.7 mpg. I carry about 500lbs over the stock setup and I installed all terrain tires from the get go. I figure the tires cost me at least 2-3 mpg. I'm happy all things considered. My 23 FWD hybrid averaged over 43 mpg on stock tires.
Mine said 330 MTE after the update. Four days later and probably about four hours of driving, it now says 334 MTE. It's getting much closer to being correct again.
How many miles are on the vehicle, and did you buy it new ? Upon further inspection of your rotor pictures, I would say that someone turned these rotors and did a really crappy job.
Something got caught under the pad or a contaminated pad on the one rotor . The others are severely rust pitted from probably sitting around on a dealers lot for a while in damp conditions.
I haven't heard anything stating they will. An aluminum one like I built would be hard to justify for the cost ( material was cheap, but the labor would be outrageous) I think a 3D printed plastic one would be cheap enough if anyone with those skills wanted to take it on.
It's hard to say, I guess only time will tell. I just didn't want to take the chance, given that Ford thought it was necessary I feel, or they wouldn't have spent that extra dollar.
