There are inner fender wells with plastic push pins around the rear wheel wells I want to remove to rust proof behind the rear fenders ( common area where trucks seem to rust). Is there any trick to getting the push pins out without damaging them? Has anyone done this?

I think that's really petty stuff. That machined area to smooth the surface will never be an issue in the life of the vehicle. If you don't like seeing the surface rust, get a can of rustoleum truck bed coating or rust converter and dab it on. You people that see this as a worry issue must...
