  1. 1 step colder Spark plug recommendation

Why does it have to be Motorcraft? Plenty of other options. NGK, Autolite, Bosch.
  2. Rear License Plate Issues?

If you keep turning the screws, you strip the hole. They're supposed to be just snug, they aren't going to come loose being a sheet metal screw in plastic.
  3. Show me your Mountain Bike Tailgate Pads

Being a MX racer, I just don't get the tailgate pad set up. I use tie downs and load them the same as a motorcycle, with the tailgate down.
  4. Ford Moving Away from Dealers

Nothing in that article say Ford is 'moving away from dealers'.
  5. 35+ MPG with the Ecoboost

High altitude and low speed. 35 is reasonable.
  6. In case anyone wanted to know what clear tail light lenses would look like…

I thought hideous Alteeza taillights were a thing 20 years ago.
  7. Wanted to give permium gas a try

All gas has adequate detergent additives. Non Top Tier gas is not 'garbage gas'. 91+ definitely provides more power in the Ecoboost than 87. It says so right in the manual. Whether you notice or care or think it's worth the extra money is a seperate issue. Using above 87 in the hybrid is a...
  8. Wanted to give permium gas a try

No additive package can prevent carbon buildup on intake valves in DI engines...

  10. Break in maintanance

There is no break-in maintenance required.
  11. Any Dealers honor X-Plan on Maverick?

I bought that Lariat in September with X Plan!
  12. Any Dealers honor X-Plan on Maverick?

Yes, but X-Plan also limits all of the dealer add-on fees to $100.
  13. Towed the car in 16' trailer with ease.

The never ending misunderstanding of the difference between payload and tow rating.
  14. Good article on LSPI, worth a read

Find a 5W-30 or 0W-20 oil that isn't API SP/ILSAC GF-6A/Dexos 1 Gen 3. So the problem is solved and no one should care unless they're tuning to crank the boost way up at low RPM.
  15. Anything practical?

You cannot increase the payload. It is what it is on the door jamb sticker. You can add airbags in the rear to reduce squat. It doesn't increase the payload, but it makes carrying the max weight more pleasant. Can you overload it? Sure, for a short trip at lower speeds to haul something...
  16. PHEV pollution much higher than it should be

    Go test drive a Lightning...with a 100 mile range while towing. 🤣
  17. Shifter Upgrade?

    OK....
  18. PHEV pollution much higher than it should be

I'm not anti EV, but the reality is the technology is in its infancy. You can debate the feel good climate benefits ad nauseum, but most people don't care. The hard numbers on cost of ownership makes the EV proposition shaky. I'll wait until there's are proven economic benefit, with no...
  19. Well, that "L" button is pretty useless,,,

So it does EXACTLY what it says it does in the manual, yet here's a thread exclaiming it 'doesn't do much of anything'. There's nothing wrong with high RPM's, especially when engine braking, so I'm amused that it 'scared' you. The adaptive cruise in my EB Lariat holds speed up and down hills...
