  1. Uncomfortable Seats / Speakers awful (XL model)

It's too bad you can't sit in these to see how they feel before buying them: I think the best way to go is to get seats from a junkyard from a car that you KNOW is comfortable. Probably cheaper, too. You might have to drill a couple holes or get an adapter or something to attach them to the...
  2. Keyless Entry

Yep. People on the Transit forum have easily replaced the non-replaceable batteries in their keypads. There are how-to videos. On my Transit(not Connect), I've had the keypad for about 9 years and the battery is just fine. These are the same keypads.
  3. Keyless Entry

when ordering the keypad, there's a link to participating dealers, I think.
  4. Uncomfortable Seats / Speakers awful (XL model)

I measured the Mav vs the Transit(not Connect). The seats are the same width and back height (20", 24") to headrest. Where they differ is the Mav floor to top front height is almost 14.5" (I have it moved as high as it will go), and the Transit(not Connect) is 17". Also, the seat depth of the...
  5. Convince me to get bed liner spray in.

Yeah, I think I'll do that. A little weight in the back is probably a good thing.
  6. Convince me to get bed liner spray in.

I wonder why all these spray shops get away with charging the same price as they do for 8' bed full size pickups? It should be almost half as much. In Portland OR, the dealer told me the shop they use, and it's $400.
  7. Next Gen Ford Infotainment Revealed: Ford Digital Experience

These OEM onboard things are worse than freeware versions offered on the web. It baffling to me why anyone would PAY EXTRA for stuff that's typically free, and works better.
  8. 2026 Maverick pricing, new colors (Orange Fury & Marsh Gray), FWD ECO 2.0 returns

Ford will not stop until there are 50 shades of gray available.
  9. Removed rear seat and now stuck with a vent that opens when driving

I'm sorry, I just assumed everyone knew the vent behind the rear seat was a one-way vent flap. Air cannot enter through it, only exit. If the air pressure inside the cab is higher than outside (like closing a door or turning on the fan for the vents), the flap will open to let the higher...
  10. Is oil pan shield really necessary

Once I get a rip or decay in the flimsy bottom cover, I'm replacing it with something more durable, like aluminum or ABS. I'm not an "enthusiast" and will never need to brag about how much I spent on the cover, or even tell anyone I have it, so ABS would be fine. But if aluminum is close to the...
  11. Hybrid Towing MPG master thread

Following for real world reports. We're on the fence about getting a small trailer for camping trips and using the Mav, or keeping the Transit(not Connect) campervan. If the Mav drops down below 20mpg towing, I'll just stick with the much more convenient Trans at 16mpg.
  12. Hybrid Towing MPG master thread

I think the F150 body probably displaced more air before it encountered the trailer than the Taco did. Aerodynamics is the major consideration exponentially above 40mph. But, higher torque at low speeds if towing in town would make a difference.
  13. Removed rear seat and now stuck with a vent that opens when driving

Same. Having the seat in really blocks the noise. I'm going to eventually build a storage cabinet/shelf to cover the back wall, and that should block some of the vent noise. While driving, putting the front vents "recirculating" mode drastically reduces the rear air escape vent noise. Cuz no...
  14. Keyless Entry

I drove 50 miles away to the nearest $60 install dealer. And most of you read my report on the results. Having zero control and leaving it up to the disservice center is traumatizing for me, given my experience with all of them for 50 years.
  15. How difficult would it be to put a V8 into a Maverick

In high school, there was a girl who had an Opel GT with a V8 in it. Sure, it was 8 cylinders, but it was 262ci. I still don't understand why many people think 8 is a magic number for car engines. The fastest cars in the world have 6. The most reliable cars in the world have 4. I guess it's...
  16. Uncomfortable Seats / Speakers awful (XL model)

Because of cause and effect, I'm thinking pretty hard on the idea that it might be a seating change from the Transit(not Connect) to the Maverick that's contributing to my leg cramping when running. It started a couple months after I got the Mav and drove the Transit(not Connect) less, if at...
  17. Uncomfortable Seats / Speakers awful (XL model)

Coincidence? I run about 25-35 miles a week. I'm old, so that's about all I find comfortable to do. About 2-3 months after acquiring the Maverick and driving it almost exclusively, about 5k miles total, I started having an issue after a couple miles with my Left hamstring cramping up a bit. This...
  18. Keyless Entry

I have a 2024. I am told by numerous sources that Ford did away with the "program it yourself" function in 2024. I did exactly what you describe with the keypad on my 2015 Transit(not Connect).
  19. What changes to Maverick engineering would you like for the next evolution?

well, they could add that at a production cost of $200 and charge an extra $800...that's what most gew-gaws do, like "upgrade" radios.
  20. Keyless Entry

I LOVE me some entry keypad! No worries about losing keys on the trail or locking them inside. I tried. Big fail on the disservice center's end; they told me they had the correct pad (no remote start), sat there for 6 hours after arriving when they first opened at 07:30, which I had an...
