  1. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Update 3: after another 24 hours (48 continuous hours total) of non use the battery voltage has dropped to 12.33V.
  2. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I am starting to lean towards taking it in.
  3. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

That's interesting, thanks for your thoughts. If you are right though, then it makes the situation even more perplexing as to how the 12V battery got down to 2V in the 1st place. I believe the HVB is 1.1 kWh which should be plenty of energy for a long time. Way more than 3 weeks at least.
  4. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Update 2: After 24 hours of sitting the battery voltage has dropped from 12.57V to 12.39V. This voltage drop seems excessive to me because if this drop is linear with time(-0.18V/day), the battery would probably be unable to crank the engine in less than a week. Think I should take it in? Any...
  5. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Thanks for all the replies! Update: I purchased a Viking 4A battery charger from Harbor Freight and tried to charge the battery in place. This did not work because, it seemed to me, as the charge became greater in the battery after a minute or so of charging, the vehicle electronics would turn...
  6. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Thanks for your reply. No, nothing obvious like that. Interior lights switched off and I switch off the headlights when I'm driving in the day. No devices or mods of any kind.
  7. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

Thanks for your reply. Yes you are right and I didn't know that. On page 325 of the owners manual, it states that the vehicle should be started every 15 days for 15 minuets, though it gives this guidance under the engine heading.
  8. Dead (really dead) 12V Battery

I had been routinely using my hybrid Maverick XL and then had it sit in the garage for 3 weeks while I used a different car for work, etc... I went to start it today to put some miles on it and it was totally bricked, no lights, no sounds, nothing. I checked the battery voltage with a DMM...
  9. First Oil Change on Hybrid Maverick XLT -- my notes / tips

Wider and less tendency for ramp to get kicked out or under by wheel. Plus, do you really want thousands of pounds of steel above you being suspended by a piece of hollow plastic?
  10. First Oil Change on Hybrid Maverick XLT -- my notes / tips

I love your homemade ramps OP. I did a similar setup with pressure treated 2X12's, works so much better than the store-bought ones. Thanks for posting.
  11. Fuel mileage reL world,

I am in a similar situation OP. I always make sure to coast to a stop, use eco mode, try to keep speed below 60 MPH and accelerate slowly. I generally get 100% on the brake coach.
