    WD40 or Goo Gone. WD40 seemed to do a better job of removing some unwanted branding on my Maverick than Goo Gone. Neither of these did any paint damage - but YMMV so test first. Also Naptha - test for paint safety first. Lots of candidate places to test to see if a solvent damages paint.

    To OP. First, thank you for your service. South Carolina's department of Consumer Affairs has web page that lists complaints for businesses and allows filing a consumer complaint. You can also call them ( 800-922-1594) to discuss the problem. I would opt for a call if I were in your position.
