Took the new Maverick out for its first drive since bringing it home yesterday. Miserable weather today in Washington, but the Mav did very well going over a mountain pass in heavy rain. I was actually pretty impressed with how the tires performed in wet conditions. Overall, very happy with it...
I was scheduled week of 2/17 (slipped from week of 2/3), but the status was updated to "In Production" yesterday. I wonder if the the assembly line is just running smoothly, or if they are rushing to get vehicles across the border before tariffs go into effect. Either way, I'll take it!
Yeah, we also used to ride horses by moonlight and take carriages with oil lanterns. It's 2025, these technologies are not exotic anymore.
What I'm actually going to miss is auto-dimming side mirrors. My Volvo has them and I've found it significantly improves nighttime visibility on the...
Agree, the RAV4 appears to give no power whatsoever to the rear wheels when traction control is off. Without traction control, it's essentially FWD only, whereas the mechanical connection in the Maverick will still send power to all four wheels, just without the braking and power modulation...
The whole point of this vehicle is that it's *not* a Camry. You're going to drag a 4k lb boat up a slick boat ramp with only 40 hp in the rear? Good luck.
The beauty of this system is it's efficient (proven hybrid setup built off tech developed w/ Toyota), compact, AND capable. If every...
Reminds me of Ford's Mighty F-350 Tonka Truck concept from 2002, but updated and more practical. The concept truck was insanely large and had a "hydraulic launch assist" - guess they hadn't figured out batteries yet.
As far as I can tell, the 2025 Maverick hybrid AWD drivetrain is largely (entirely?) shared with the Escape, which has had this configuration available for a few years now. Yet, I cannot find any decent/journalist reviews of this drivetrain, even though it appears to have been available in the...
Production was being scheduled 9-10 weeks out when I ordered mine a month ago. Add a few more weeks for shipping, you're probably looking at 12-14 weeks for delivery, although production scheduling may have improved now that we're into Job 2. When did you receive your order confirmation?
Mine too! Received a text message and email just before 10:00am.
Ordered: 11/29
Confirmed: 11/30
Scheduled: 12/5 for Week of 2/3
2025 Hybrid AWD Lariat, 4k, Moonroof, Desert Sand, rollup tonneau.
Edit: Ordered from Korum Ford in Puyallup, WA. First time but a good experience so far...
You might be thinking of the CVT (continuously variable transmission), which is only on the hybrid, rather than the CV (constant velocity) axle which is what transfers power to the wheels anywhere you have independent suspension. Bunch of joints and whatnot so it can move up and down with the...
I ordered a Lariat AWD Hybrid 4k last Friday! Hopefully will get scheduled this week for production sometime in February. Looking forward to next year's camping trips!
This is the news I've been waiting for! Placed my order for Lariat AWD Hybrid 4k 11/29, received order confirmation 11/30.
Thought I could keep my cool and be patient but I've pretty much been glued to this forum since receiving the order confirmation. 😂
