I live in Ohio, the land of unlimited construction zones. They keep tearing down and rebuilding roads, which means that there will be all sorts of gravel and loose rocks in the middle of paved roads. The constant potholes and repaving of said potholes also adds on to all the huge transition...
I'll be honest. I don't think ford knew what the hell they were doing when designing this truck out of spare parts. I have been in almost every recall, had squirrels chew up my wiring 2x, had a rock cut my gas line driving to work, and have to get an alignment every year. I've had less times in...
I'm going to try and make sure it gets repaired under the initial warranty, this post half starts a journal of "hey, here's where/when the issue started" and a "dammit, it happened to me"
It's not listed as a recall yet, but assuming it will be if they have to send it out to so many mav owners. (I put recall in quotes because i had called quicklane attached to dealership for clarification and the service writer said "recall") But both boots are leaking from wheel ends and one...
The steering's felt a little off (took it for an alignment roughly a month ago due to all the construction zones i've had to drive through over summer.) but i haven't noticed a vibration till yesterday. I was speeding up from 55 to 70 mph to merge behind a semi truck and all of a sudden the...
I would like to preface this with the fact that it hasn't rained since last wednesday and that i took these photos around 1pm, so condensation from morning dew would be long-gone.
Hello all!
I've had my maverick for a little over 3 years now with approx. 43,400 miles on the odo. I just received ford corporate's letter for 25N09 for the potential "recall"/warranty extension on the front half-shafts. It's still under the 5yr/60k mark but i think that i might have caught...
That's what i ended up doing. Just disengage/disconnect the ebrake then manually wind it back. I just stopped by a quick lane so they could verify that the work is solid after all was said and done as well as clear any OBD2 codes.
There was one for rear right parking brake only because after...
I tried putting into service mode and heard it wind back, then it went out of service mode. No flashing lights on the dash or anything. The EPB still works, but i plan on calling the dealer to ask if it's okay to just wind it back if it's disengaged and disconnected from the connector.
I am planning to replace the rotors while i'm doing the pads. I'm trying to get back into learning my personal vehicle maintenance and keeping up with what issues seem to pop up on this forum.
I hope to become more mechanically competent so i can do some upgrades that are posted here like the...
Hi, do you happen to have the torque specs for the caliper mounting bracket? I'm going to be replacing my brakes this weekend and the specs on the normal escape seem a bit high at 129 ftlbs in the front and 71 ftlbs in the rear.
I have my brake parts on the way and reviewed the threads on servicing pads and rotors with aftermarkets. I have a 2022 ecoboost fx4/4k tow where the wsm doesn't get the brakes into service mode.
Would it be safe on the parts if i disengage the parking brake so there's no pressure on the pads...
Which aftermarket rotors are you running? I'm having a hard time finding maverick specific aftermarket parts but if i can use the escape or bronco sport parts, i think i'll be golden.
That's what i'm doing. Plus i literally need a larger vehicle than my current fiesta that averages 35.5mpg because i am literally cramming myself into it at 6'4" tall.
Would you need an extended warranty if the engine goes out inside the basic warranty? The hybrid has an 8 year/80,000 miles. The eco has 3 years/36,000.
