Ha! My mom drove a Pinto for a while. I was 13, not driving yet. But I tried to talk her into jacking the back up and putting fat tires on it. Figured I could get the car at 16 and do it myself. We were all overly influenced by Ratfink!
For me negotiating is about getting what I'm comfortable with and what feels fair all around. I'm not losing any sleep over the next guy saving a few more bucks than I did. Life is too short for that!
Hey, I drove a Fix It Again Tony for years and across country four times without any problems.
It's all about the model, not the brand. Also back then, 1073 model, we were expected to maintain our cars, not just drive them.
Re: the hybrid window sticker
So here's another wild-ass hypothesis (because we need another one here:D)
Maybe Ford isn't getting the EPA mileage numbers they wanted from EPA and they're scrambling to figure out what to do! Holding off further assembly until they have an answer.
Waiting for that "further notice." If there's no explicit notice in Monday's dealer update (wonder if anyone will share here), there won't be any hybrids scheduled on Thursday. At least that's how I read the communications we've seen to date.
