That is a horrific experience and first I've heard where there's all this bouncing around. It certainly does not seem normal. If you still want it, I'd first confirm it is there and tell them to take a picture of it or do a video call so you have a higher level of confidence. Alternatively, you...
Exactly what I hear as well. I pulled over a couple times after first getting it. This is an excessively noisy motor. Had I observed this during the test drive I may have not picked it. This seems to be a NVH issue that Ford probably could have addressed.
Yes, I hear it too and have no idea what it is. We only have 1,800 miles and observed it since day 1. When I first heard it I thought it was the faint sound of a ambulance coming.

Not watched this video or read all comments. However, I did watch others and my thoughts are this is an apples & oranges comparison. The Santa Cruz is more of an open back SUV than truck based on the stuff a truck can and does do. While the Maverick shares the underpinning of the Escape it is...
In the 2nd pic could you please confirm the depth of the fixed enclosure from back of bed? Just want to know how much space is lost with this option. Thanks!
Just watched this guys 3year review video and it was insightful. I like that it easily comes off if needed which seems to be an issue for some that are rollup. https://www.muddyruttzz.com/post/truxedo-sentry-hard-roll-up-review-overlanding
