  1. Fuel fill-up question

I'm not sure that fuel oxidation is a concern on the Hybrid, since unlike the EcoBoost and every other vehicle on the road, the fuel tank is not open to atmosphere and is pressurized. The fuel cannot oxidize under those conditions.
  2. Well, it finally happened to me

Huh? Do you have a bad dealer? The date of vehicle manufacture is when the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty starts, not the battery manufacturing date. It sounds like your dealer owes you $300.
  3. Blow off valve question

The 2.0 routinely runs 18-20 lbs of boost. I've never heard of anyone talking about the intake going overpressure somehow.
  4. No more hate for the 2025 facelift's new front end design?

There's not a lot of point in bitching about the poor 25 front-end redesign, as it is highly unlikely that Ford will do anything to fix it. Certain colours can minimize the jarring mis-design cues, but its still a poor frontend that should have had the creators fired.
  5. 12V Battery replacement under warranty

They replaced mine with the same EFL battery type, but with a bit higher reserve capacity and made in a different country.
  6. 12V Battery replacement under warranty

At twice the price, Ford will not put in an AGM battery under warranty unless it came with one. The 25 models have switched to AGM as part of their huge price increase, but while it has better cranking power for the EcoBoost, its a pretty big waste of money on the Hybrid.
  7. Snow - slush frozen in wheel causing vibrations

That's partly why I use steelies in the winter, with cheapo plastic hubcaps from Princess Auto to keep the snow out of the dish part of the wheel. The aluminum rims are a poor choice for Ontario winters, since the snow packs in the rims and the wetted roadsalt will just eat them away. NaCl +...
  8. Looking for good floor mats that fit 2023 Maverick

I didn't like the fit that I saw on the Ford mats, with almost no sidewall to hold snow in and protect the carpet. Also the Ford mats were too expensive. I had Weathertech mats on two previous vehicles - one fit like a glove and the other one not well at all. Also the Weathertechs were too...
  9. 12v battery monitor results [DATA LOG] on 18 month old XLT hybrid

No, the modem is as USA-only option, since AT&T does not serve areas outside of that. The telematics bleat is sent by WiFi, and if you're currently connected to the modem instead of your home or office WiFi, then it would get used. I do not have the modem and the telematics work properly.
  10. Maverick Wiper Cold Weather Performance ... What is the problem?

I have the heated wiper option, so YMMV. However ice at the top of the wiper travel is not something that heaters would fix, and I don't think that the defrost on any other vehicle would get that area any warmer. How about using the washers?
  11. Winter pics

Seriously? Only 3 of the posted pics have mode than an inch of snow, and only one has enough snow to think about. We just had 8+ inches here overnight, on top of the 14 already on the ground and another 5 inches coming Saturday night.
  12. 225/60/18 to 235/65/18 fit?

Sell em and get the right size tire. About 55-series would be right. Alternatively you could play around in the engineering test mode display and alter the tire size factor, and then put it back when you switch back to summer tires.
  13. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

If you have the block heater option, that will help get the engine temperature up a lot faster. Ford was definitely not thinking clearly when they did the cable routing, and I had to add a foot-long extension to the stupid wiring placement inside the hood to get the plug into a usable place.
  14. Spray in Liner and Bed Covers

I had it installed for free at their plant in Etobicoke. The tonneau cover does not leak, even in a carwash. The tailgate however, leaks a bit around the sides due to the wide clearances. I've been thinking about getting a roll of additional tailgate seal, but tit is way too pricey on Amazon.
  15. Snow Turd Removal

Uhuh. If you look at the Escape close sibling for example, the ice does not accumulate over the headlights.
  16. Snow Turd Removal

Yup, unlike the old incandescent and halogen bulbs, the LED headlights do not generate enough heat to melt off the ice. Its a disadvantage of the more efficient bulbs. I find that I have to keep stopping every hour or so to uncover my headlights again and again. Its too bad that Ford elected...
  17. Spray in Liner and Bed Covers

I paid CDN$770 for the Line-X SIBL and CDN$570 installed for the Bison flip-back 3-panel hard tonneau cover. Then I cut a CDN$19 Home Depot floor mat to fit the bed and tailgate to get a softer floor for my knees and be able to just pull it out and pressure-wash to clean. So all in, I'm at...
  18. Best wheel/tire size for mileage?

Getting moving requires a lot of energy. Selecting the lightest tire/rim combination would obviously benefit. There is also a much smaller benefit to lowering rolling resistance for steady-speed down the road. I think that's why Ford put tires with shaved tread and reduced sidewall strength...
  19. Hybrid Maverick brakes - replace at how many miles?

How many miles do you have on your Mav? The brakes on the Hybrid do not get used a lot unless you hammer them on all the time, so the should last about 2x to 3x as long as the EcoBoost brakes. Most owners can expect to get at least 200k miles out of a set of pads, and possibly a lot more. Is...
  20. Update on my replacement lead-acid battery in my 24 hybrid

You Ranger uses the 12V battery to start the engine. The Hybrid Maverick does not. The cranking power rating is completely irrelevant on the Hybrid. The only number that matters is the reserve capacity. Since an AGM does not have a lot more reserve capacity for its doubled price, its not the...
