  1. Issues with Tariffs, both Mexico AND Canada [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS ALREADY BANNED FOR IT]

Def go work for a hedge fund because you're doing better than they are on average. You could be making big bucks. To be clear, I think you are either mistaken, Cherry picking certain years or are just full of it. Pretty much every hedge fund is trying to do what you claim to be pulling off but...
  2. Issues with Tariffs, both Mexico AND Canada [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS ALREADY BANNED FOR IT]

That's because you can't reliably beat the S&P500. It's gambling, assuming you aren't doing something illegal.

you should go work for a hedge fund if you think you can beat the S&P500. they'd love to have you.
  4. Issues with Tariffs, both Mexico AND Canada [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS ALREADY BANNED FOR IT]

while long term I agree with you guys fully if I was literally about to retire I might consider going a little more conservative than I might have otherwise gone. not pulling out of the market, just more conservative investments. long term it's index funds all the way for me. they are pretty...
  5. Maverick Tremor offroading limits found again -- broke rear drive shaft

    no videos? looks pretty cool.

They would have the same tariff since they are coming from Mexico so I would assume, yes. I'm guessing you get what you pay for though!
  7. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

I own one of these and I've essentially never use it. in a lot of cars there isn't really space to get it on the filter properly.
  8. Issues with Tariffs, both Mexico AND Canada [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS; MEMBERS ALREADY BANNED FOR IT]

I posted the playbook a while back. maybe I need to dig that sucker up again!
  9. Tariffs

I would imagine about whatever the tariff increase is. why wouldn't it be that?
  10. Why is winter *highway* mpg so low?

a heat pump would have helped in a lot of scenarios but that would have added to the cost. my other vehicle (plug in hybrid) can operate full electric with the heat on as long as it isn't really cold (<10F or somewhere around there).
  11. Mabett | Shield Cover for Underbody Cavity Behind Left Rear Tire Available Now!

how do we know the hardware is going to rust?? and the weather stripping might help but I'm not sure it is 100% necessary. maybe at some point after it's been installed for a while I'll check into how much stuff got in there :P
  12. Maverick Quality - not

No problems yet. The bang for the buck is seeming pretty great so far.
  13. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

agreed. this is definitely a concern. a good shop (dealer or independent) would be nice to have. I haven't found a great one yet.
  14. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

I don't mind if people don't want change their own oil. It's just never going to be faster to bring it to the dealer because it just takes to long, has to be at a certain time, etc.
  15. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

If it's physically difficult for someone to do I get it. But anyone arguing about it being a time savings needs to do the math. Every time I'm at the dealer I regret it. Last time I was at the Toyota dealer I spent 30 minutes just waiting for their driver to show up and give me a ride to...
  16. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

I haven't done an oil change on the maverick yet but on my other cars the time savings of doing it myself is worth it. Every time I go to the dealer I either need to get a ride or wait. Plus I need to drive there and back. Active time doing an oil change is probably 20 minutes. While the oil...
  17. A quick note on oil change of 2.5L Hybrid

I suspect the change oil indicator is based on miles and time. Time is actually not an important factor on it's own but it is likely if you don't hit a lot of miles in a year that you did a lot of short cycling of the engine which is harder on the oil. In other words, it's probably a good idea...
