I have this unit installed. My feedback is that I’d rather the outlet not have the blue LED’s inside since they contribute (albeit very slightly) to battery drain after shutdown. Otherwise, fit and finish are spot on.
2018 Buick Regal Tourx. Rebadged Opal Insignia Country Tourer model. GM ended the partnership and made it a 2 production year, 3 model year car. Had ~50k miles. Sold to Carmax. Spec wise, the Maverick is almost identical, but a bed vs. a hatch.
Here is what I found. When comparing the lightning to the Maverick, the Maverick doesn’t have the save as built parameters as the lightning. It seems that they are/possibly the same line that the temperature setting is, but I am not going to experiment with different settings to find out.
I run a harbor freight adjustable load bar with a couple of Lowes 27 gallon totes. Totes are routinely on sale for $10-12 and I can stack them when one is empty.
In the regal world, if you unplugged the BMS at the battery terminal, the alternator would charge at full voltage. Not sure if the same applies here. They were getting a BMS DTC though, but no other issues. The regal had the same low state of charge issues eating batteries right out of warranty.
While this article espouses the need for people to not disable the various systems, at some point the line can be drawn that choosing to buy a trim level that doesn’t include these systems makes you more liable if you were to get into a wreck vs. if you bought a trim that included them (XL vs...
